SOLITUDE in DEATH as in LIFE - the BURIAL of HEIRESS HUGUETTE CLARK
104 Year Old Heiress Receives No Mourners, No Priest, No Service of Any Kind!
Heiress Huguette Clark (104 years old) was quietly buried on Thursday morning, May 26, 2011. Just as her life was veiled in secrecy, so was the burial of Huguette Clark, the heiress of William A. Clark, nicknamed the "Copper King" and one time senator.
Extended family which consist of cousins, nephews and nieces were not allowed to pay they're last respects; being told by Huguette's attorney, Wallace Bock that those were Huguette's wishes despite the fact that her relatives had cooperated in allowing Huguette to make changes to the family mausoleum so that Huguette would have a place to be buried. These same family members claim they had a relationship with Ms. Clark up until a few years ago when attorney Bock cut off Huguette's access to them and presumably signed a Will drawn up by attorney Bock.
Huguette Clark was laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery in Bronx, NY, beside her older sister, Andree who died from meningitis in 1919 at the age of sixteen. Also resting within the family crypt is her mother, her father, her father's first wife, and other children from her father's first marriage. Huguette was entombed with only the cemetery workers in attendance and a bouquet of daisies placed at the bronze door of the mausoleum.
While no one has been charged with any wrong doing, the Manhattan D.A. is looking into Huguette's financial affairs with a forensic accountant. The criminal investigation is being handled by the same D.A. who handled the Brooke Astor investigation which found Mrs. Astor's' son guilty.
Huguette Clark's life may be over but the saga between lawyers and relatives will go on for sometime to come.

These stories about Ms. Clark are fascinating. I hope she'll be able to find the peace she didn't have while she was still alive.
