Solo Travel at Disney World

Ebie Harris
Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida is actually one of the only places that I feel comfortable traveling alone to. I am not an independent person by any means; I do not even like to grocery shop alone.

Disney World is so accessible with the Disney park buses that I never have to worry about transportation. When I travel, especially when I travel alone, I want convenient transportation. Since the Disney park buses run a good time before and after the park opening and closing you are always sure to find a way to and from the parks.

With so many happy and helpful Disney guests and employees around I always feel safe. Of course, I am not unrealistic and I do realize anywhere there are large crowds there is a potential for things to happen. However, I will take my chances for solo travel to Disney World over New York City any day.

Traveling with others is great, but there are so many advantages of solo travel to Disney. For instance whenever I travel alone to Disney I get to do all the activities that I want to do. When I travel with my family there is a lot of planning; many early morning runs to the parks, frequent breaks, and a rush to make it to dinner on time. Solo travel to me means I can actually do what a vacation is meant for; relaxation. I can lounge by the pool, relax in the hotel lobby, or browse through the many shops.

Another advantage of solo travel to Disney World that I discovered was faster times at most of the restaurants. Often single patrons can be seated quicker. Also if you do not mind sitting at a counter you can almost always walk right in. For the ride enthusiasts being a solo traveler can be beneficial. Popular rides like Test Track and Mission Space have designated lines just for the solo rider.

Disney World has an amazing combination of exceptional resorts and thrilling theme parks. This is one destination that is truly designed for any traveler. If you are deciding to venture out on your own for the first time though I highly recommend Disney World for solo travel.
