Solutions for Computer-Related Vision Problems

There are very few jobs today that do not require at least part of the work day be spent on the computer. This has lead to a common condition with many office workers and even telecommuters known as computer vision syndrome and digital eye fatigue. These conditions can occur in younger people also who spend too much time playing video games. ,

There are ways to tackle the problem of eye strain related to spending too much time in front of a digital screen. All people who spend at least 30 minutes a day in front of a computer screen can prevent eye strain by buying a pair of computer glasses. Common eye problems related to computer use include headaches, blurred vision, eye fatigue, and eye dryness.

These glasses will set you back a few dollars, but may prevent you having to you're your regular glasses changed so often because of changes brought on by computer related eye strain. Computer glasses are tinted a light yellow, brownish, or grey color to help prevent eye strain related to screen glass. Yellow is the most effective tint color because it has been shown to make text appear larger further reducing your chance for eye strain there are computer glasses made for computer users with 20/20 vision and there are also computer glasses made to your specific eye glass prescription. Prescription computer glasses are likely to cost more money.

There are a number of practical things you can do to lower your chances of excessive eye strain when using the computer. One is to position your computer monitor in line with your line of sight. This way you are not straining your neck to have a clear view of the computer screen. . You should also position your monitor in a way that reduces glare on the screen from both natural and artificial lighting.

The foremost important thing people should do is to adjust the position of the computers, so as to assure that their vision is in line with screen. The second is people should make sure that their sitting positions are appropriate, such as the height of the chair, the placement of their feet, etc. Bad sitting posture can make bodies fatigued easily.

Some people use a technique of palming their eyes when they become fatigued for a few moments giving their eye a much needed break Palming your eyes should be done by covering your eyes, but putting no pressure on them. Frequent breaks where you walk away from your computer screen altoghether are even more effective in reducing eye strain. Unfortunately, most of us work in environments where opportunities to leave our work stations are few and far between.

There are also eye exercises your eye doctor can prescribe to strengthen your eye muscles making them less susceptible to eye strain. Talking to your eye doctor about the benefits of tinted computer eye wear and ways to strengthen your eye muscles will give most people the relief they need from computer related vision problems.
