Information sharing can be a conflict in teams for several reasons, but there are many solutions for information sharing problems in teams. Technology has provided several helpful solutions for teamwork environments and information sharing. This article will discuss problems inherent in teams located in separate locations and solutions for information sharing problems in teams.

A common problem for many teams is how they share information. This problem can cause teamwork to be slow and laborious; miscommunication can also be a problem that arises with information sharing. Information sharing is the backbone of teamwork, and it can be done easily and efficiently with the use of team rules and standards, online share folders, email, and team forum pages.

Team rules and standards are important when sharing information because it will decide what, where, who, how, and when. Establishing this type of order will avoid confusion and miscommunication; it will also set a guideline for the way that information should be shared amongst members of a team.

A team forum page is another great way to share information amongst groups. It allows for discussion across time constraints as well as an accurate record of information being shared. Email is another solution to information sharing conflicts because of its ease and efficiency. Team members can use email to contact one another at any moment in time, but email should be used when team functioning is at a high level and trust is developed.

Information sharing is an extremely important part of teamwork; it is also complicated and can cause conflicts. Teams who work in different locations can find it difficult to share information with their team members.
