Solutions for Students that Are Negligent in Their Learning

Knowledge is like a plant or garden. Once it has been established, it needs to be maintained and fertilized with the utmost care.

Depending on the type of plant it will only flourish in a certain environment, and with the right mount of water, it will blossom into the most wondrous thing you have ever seen.

There are many reasons that people are negligent or careless with knowledge.At certain times in ones life, they place priorities on various things, and as times goes on those priorities change.

This is perhaps why ones priority on gaining knowledge changes.
As a young student, learning is a great excitement, that students desire to share with others, and it is at this age that children are developing intellectually at the most advanced rate.

That is why they say children are sponges; they absorb their surroundings, be it audio, visual, or otherwise.
It is at a young age that teaching a second language is the best time.

As students get older, and reach preteen and teenage years, their priorities change and knowledge often is put on the back burner, and ma even continue to stay their in adult hood.
In order to assist in a students desire to continue increasing their knowledge one should:

Discuss on going events and news. Help the student to evaluate what is going on in the world. Help them to see the progress the world has made in various areas, and the effects it has had, as well as the negative things. Discuss ways that the student can do his or her part, by coming up with solutions to those problems.

Stress the value of time, and show examples of how making good use of time is a necessity. For example, if there is a favorite show coming on at a 10:00 a.m., they must have their room cleaned in order to watch it. If they take their time to clean their room and do not use their time wisely, they will miss the show.

Man was created to want the best of what life has to offer. That also includes education, but often students forget and have less dignity about themselves when it comes to education, so much so that girls often pretend not to be as smart as they really are to make sure that a boy they like, likes them.

Self-dignity should be stressed. Encouragement of god character should be emphasized.
Remember to tell your students that you are proud of them. Find ways to have them use a new skill or bit of information to assist you. It shows the importance and relevance of such.

A positive environment is also a requirement for students, especially young teens. Ones environment can have a big affect on their outlook, their desire and motivations.

If one has negative influences, or does not have support for the goal in which they are being told is so important they tend to reject it for that simple fact. They do not see it as being a benefit.

Gaining knowledge is one of the most important things in life, and it can be obtained in many ways, but yet it is this very thing that we spend the least amount of our time doing.
