Some of the Best Diners and Places to Eat in Williamsburg, Virginia While on Vacation at Busch Gardens

Even when You Are Having Fun You Have to Eat

For the best pizza in town you need to look no further than Sal's. There is also a place called Sal's by Victor but that is a different place. Both have good pizza, but Sal's is the best. They have a pleasant during room typical of many Italian restaurants. They have a variety of pasta, pizza as well as sandwiches like you would expect at an Italian restaurant. They also sell beer and liquor inside the premises if you would like a beer with your meal. They offer delivery, carryout and dine in. I recommend the spaghetti and meatballs in addition to the pizza. The hoagies are good but the only one that is really good is the meatball hoagie. They do have pretty reasonable prices and good value. A large pizza will run $12. The prices for Italian dinners range from $10 for spaghetti to upwards of $20 for surf and turf.

Pierce's pit Bar-B-Que is a family owned BBQ diner located in Williamsburg and a one other in Virginia. I would not call them fast food, but they almost could remind you of one. They are famous for their BBQ pork and chicken sandwiches. They also sell burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, catfish, and occasionally ribs. There is also a variety of sides and a few deserts available. I have had quite a few items on their menu. I highly recommend the BBQ pork or chicken. Some people like their ribs, but after eating Dreamland BBQ in Alabama I am a bit partial to good ribs. There is a pleasant atmosphere inside and its overall a nice place. You can get a very generous sized sandwich, fries and a drink for under $8 or a pretty good dinner for $15. Overall this is a really good value and tastes great, but it's not less filling.

The library tavern is a nice little pace that has pretty good food. It's a family restaurant that has a pretty diverse menu including appetizers, pizza, burgers, sandwiches, steaks, chicken and hoagies. Is a very quaint place and nice for the family to eat at. Their pizza is good, but not anywhere near as good as Sal's. I recommend their hot wings, BBQ sandwiches, which are almost as good as Pierce's and the lemon pepper chicken. The prices are reasonable you can get an order of wings for $8 and most sandwiches are less than $10. When we go there we usually share a few appetizers and maybe get a pizza.
