There are a number of restaurants in this small town of Mora that has a population of about 3500 residents where one can go out and enjoy a nice meal. Weather it's breakfast, lunch or dinner, you're sure to find just the right place for your dining pleasure. Mora offers everything from Chinese cuisine to fast food restaurants, but best of all some real nice family style restaurants where one can take the whole family out to eat. Here are 3 of what I consider to be the best family restaurants in Mora, Mn.

1. Freddies Family Restaurant & Banquet Facility: Located right on Hwy. 65, the main highway that runs through Mora, Freddies Family Restaurant is easily accessible to the general public. This family restaurant offers a number of delicious daily specials. They are very competitively priced and have a full menu as well as a kids menu.

For years Freddies has been known for their delicious broasted chicken. When our boys were young and still living at home, it was a tradition to go to Freddies for their Thur. night broasted chicken specials. The restaurant was usually quite busy and it wasn't uncommon to have to stand in line and wait to be seated at a table. That same delicious broasted chicken is still served at Freddies today, as well as a number of other delicious entrees.

Freddies has expanded their service and now offers wine, beer and cocktails for those who may prefer a before or after dinner drink with their meal. They also have special buffets on some Sundays and holidays in their banquet room area. You can also reserve their banquet room for your special events.

Pizza Hut: Another Hwy.65 restaurant that I consider to be a great place to take the family out to eat is Mora's Pizza Hut. I especially like this restaurant because of the value I feel that their noon buffets offer on Mon. through Fri. It not only has a variety of pizzas to choose from, their are also a number of other Italian favorites to pick from. This is our favorite place to go out and eat when my 4 hungry grandsons come for a visit.

Pizza Hut also offers the convenience of pickup or delivery right to your doorstep if you prefer to eat at home. Weather it's lunch or dinner, Pizza Hut is an ideal family restaurant for the pizza and Italian food lover in your house.

Grandma's Kitchen: This independently owned and operated family restaurant definitely belongs in the category of family restaurants. When you walk in the door, you instantly notice the theme of the decor which depicts Grandma's kitchens from days gone by. The homemade delicious soups, stews, and entrees all remind one of the delicious meals Grandma used to make for us in her kitchen.

Grandma's Kitchen carries a number of delicious daily specials as well as a full menu of various choices of everything from fish to fowl. Their desserts and delicious pastries are mouth-watering good, if you have room for dessert after you finish their large portion meals.

Starting your day off with a good breakfast from Grandma's Kitchen is sure to get you off to a good start.

Whichever of these family restaurants you decide to go to for a nice family dinner here in Mora, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
