There are many autoimmune disorders. Each is treated differently and each attacks something different inside the human body. Some of the most common autoimmune diseases include Multiple Sclerosis (which attacks the nervous system), Fibromyalgia (which causes chronic muscle pain), Rheumatoid Arthritis (which attacks the joints), and Lupus (attacks the body's tissues).
Now that you have a little better idea of what autoimmune disorders entail, here are some natural ways to help fight them. Remember though that each from of therapy may work different for different people, even if they have the same disorder, or they may not even work at all for some people. And always remember to seek a physicians advice before trying any alternative therapy.
One of the best ways to get into better health, no matter what the ailment is, is to eat right. Cut carbs. Cut fats. Cut sugar. Sugar increases inflammation, which is something that is very bad for people who are suffering from autoimmune diseases. Eat lots of foods with Omega-3 Fatty Acids. Chose non-starchy vegetables and only eat moderate amounts of fruits and whole grains.
Fitness is the second best thing for whatever ails the human body. Exercise helps with the lymphatic system, which keeps the immune system in healthy order. Toned muscles and proper weight keep blood sugar levels lowered. Chose yoga, walking and swimming for safe and effective fitness if you suffer from an autoimmune disorder.
Help your digestive system by taking enzyme supplements. Autoimmune diseases have a negative effect on both the stomach and the intestines.
Get a good amount of antioxidants to help reduce inflammation. Blueberries and pomegranate are both great sources of antioxidants.
Avoid stimulation of your immune system. It is already overactive fighting something it should not be fighting, why aggravate it any more? Doctors generally prescribe immune suppressors, but for a natural path try licorice root and Omega-3 fatty acids.
Last, but not least, detox. A simple and very effective method of detox that can help out greatly is the ionic detox. This only requires that you sit with your feet in a foot bath for about a half an hour. It has a salt/water mixture solution in it and a contraption that emits negative ions is placed in it. It helps to clean out your system from your feet up!
