Some Contestants Face Elimination for the First Time This Week on the Biggest Loser Season 11

Kimberly Dorr
Double elimination week has arrived on The Biggest Loser. I have never enjoyed the double eliminations. This week will probably not be an exception, but it will be more interesting. One contestant will be eliminated after the first weigh-in (someone from the "ranch" teams) then another contestant will be eliminated after ALL the teams weigh-in. This episode will be the first week that the "unknowns" will face elimination. After tonight there won't be any "unknowns" or "ranch" teams, they will all be on the ranch.

The show started with the last training session for the "unknowns" at Fitness Ridge. The trainers are working them hard and most of the contestants are taking the training and teamwork seriously. Then there is Q, he is more concerned with this being the last week of immunity and doesn't want to stand around watching people when he feels like he should be doing something. He walks off and Cara decides to confront him. This is where I start to worry about the new trainers, Cara doesn't pull Q to the side and talk to him in private about how she feels disrespected, she confronts him in front of a group and lets other contestants (big shock, mostly Rulon) yell at him as well. This bothered me; she should have pulled him aside and talked to him alone. This caused friction in the group and was another attack on one player instead of a discussion, there was not going to be any resolution when someone is attacked; this causes the person being attacked to get defensive. Cara seems to have a lot to learn about working with a group of people.

Next we watched Bob and Jillian work out the "ranch" teams. Jillian worked with Hannah who had a back injury 12 years ago which ended her sports career. Jillian got her into a backbend! It was the first time she had arched her back in those 12 years. Not only was that a physical breakthrough but it was an emotional one as well. This was their last chance workout before the first weigh-in of the episode; let's hope they made it count.

Jennifer and Jay, the Green Team, came back for the weigh-in. They divulged a little bit of information about their week at Fitness Ridge, they were confident that they made the right decision on day one to be on the ranch with Bob and Jillian. They were the first to weigh-in, Jen lost 6 pounds and Jay lost 9, great numbers for being in a new place for a week doing different workouts than they're used to!

Next up was the Blue Team, Arthur and Jesse, one of my Oregon teams. They need to get on the same page, each week one of them seems to have a rough weigh-in. Arthur lost 9 pounds, not great since he is the biggest contestant but not bad and much better than the 4 pounds last week. Jesse had another off week, only 3 pounds, not a good number; once again they may be in danger of going below that yellow line.

Next up was Courtney and Marci, the Aqua Team, needing to lose more than 8 pounds to stay safe. Marci is one of the smaller contestants so that makes it a little stressful for her. No need to stress, Marci's 3 pounds are very respectable for her size. Courtney blew everyone away and lost 10 pounds! She is doing an amazing job!

Hannah and Olivia, the Purple Team, were next to weigh-in. They are both smaller than most of the contestants so they only need to lose more than 7 pounds to be safe. They cut it close by losing 8 pounds total, but still great numbers. Hannah lost 3 pounds and is now under 220 and Olivia lost 5 and is now under 230.

Last to weigh-in was Don of the Black team and Irene of the Orange Team. They were paired together earlier in the week during the temptation. They need to lose more than 8 pounds, after gaining last week that should not be a problem for Don, right? WRONG! They made his starting weight the same as the previous week, the week before the big gain, so not only did he need to lose more than 9 pounds to even register a loss. He ended up losing 3 pounds so it registered as a 6 pound gain. Irene lost gained 6 pounds as well. They both admitted that this was done on purpose so Don could go home. While I respected that they admitted they did it on purpose I am still very upset that Don and Dan took the place of two people who would have wanted to be on the ranch. There was no "elimination" for this weigh-in, it was unanimous, and Don was sent home like he wished.

The "unknowns" were welcomed back on campus and the both groups were able to see how different the other teams looked. Once the teams were all together Allison revealed the twist of the week, if the "ranch" teams could beat their total weight loss from the previous weigh-in (48 pounds) they win immunity for the week. If they don't, they will have to vote someone off. The "unknowns" will have to vote someone off from the team below the yellow line from their group no matter what. So even though they are all living together now this week they will still be separate. I wonder how long they will continue to keep them divided.

Cara and Brett were excited, and a little intimidated, to walk into the ranch gym and start training where Bob and Jillian train. I must say, Brett is hot, how those girls can concentrate on working out with him in the room is beyond me! Okay, that is out of my system, back to the show. During the first combined workout the "ranch" teams watched the "unknowns" workout with Cara and Brett. The "unknowns" were definitely feeling the pressure but they all seemed to use it to fuel their workouts.

The "unknowns" competed in a challenge, not against the "ranch" teams, but against each other. The winning team would get immunity for the 5th week in a row. The teams had to carry weights across the gym and put it on the scale of an opposing team, once a team had 500 pounds on the scale representing them they were out. The last team to have less than 500 pounds on the scale wins immunity.

This challenge would show us who was more interested in getting immunity and who was more interested in making sure that the "weakest" contestants wouldn't get immunity. Everybody stacked the weights on the Red Team first so they were quickly out. They all said it was due to Q's lack of effort, wonder if he'll shock them all and lose tons of weight this week.

It came down to the two teams, Yellow and Grey, who didn't need the immunity; they were the teams who always have big weight loss. The Yellow Team won and Rulon shed a few tears and said he felt guilty for taking immunity from another team, yeah, right, I find that very hard to believe. If he was so worried about the other people in his "family" he would have let another team win. The games have begun!

The second weigh-in of the episode started with the "ranch" teams. Can they lose 49 pounds or more and get immunity for the week? I am pulling for them! If they do then there will be an even number of "ranch" contestants and "unknowns" which will make next week even more interesting.

First up was Irene, they started her with her previous weight before the intentional gain. That means she had to lose 6 pounds plus some to get a negative number. She lost a total of 14 pounds! That means that the weight loss that counts for the week is 8 pounds. They are off to a great start!

Next up was the Green Team, Jennifer lost 4 pounds and Jay lost 10! Jennifer was disappointed in her number but as a team they did great! Olivia from the Purple Team lost 4 pounds and Hannah lost 7 pounds. Awesome number for Hannah, good number for Olivia considering her size, and now with only two teams left to weigh-in the "ranch" teams have 33 pounds lost, they still need 16 pounds.

The Aqua Team, Marci and Courtney had good numbers the last weigh-in so I was a little nervous for them. I should have known better. Courtney lost another 7 pounds; she is two from 50 total pounds, how awesome. Marci lost 8 pounds! She is now at an even 200 pounds, 8 pounds in a week for a woman her size is amazing. As a team they lost 15 pounds, now Jesse and Arthur just need to lose 1 pound as a team and they all get immunity.

As Jesse and Arthur walked up the stairs to the scale I kept thinking about the roller coaster rides the Blue Team has been on each week. Can they lose the 1 pound??? Of course they can! Arthur lost 6 pounds (he still needs to kick it up a notch if he wants to stick around now that the "unknowns" are back) and Jesse lost 9 pounds! Go Jesse!

Nobody from the "ranch" teams have to go home! You could see that the great numbers made the "unknowns" a little nervous, now they see that the competition is fierce on the ranch!

The Yellow Team has immunity so they weighed in first. Rulon lost 17 pounds and Justin lost 16 pounds. I noticed that they had been losing double digits each week until last week when they only lost 12 pounds as a team. Seems like they wanted to make sure they had big numbers this week to intimidate the "ranch" teams. Or maybe I just don't like their attitudes and want to think the worst. I guess it could have been worse; they could have thrown the weigh-in since they have immunity.

The Red Team knew that they had a lot to prove this week, and prove it they did. Larialmy lost 11 pounds and Q lost 13! I guess they have been working hard, even if the other teams didn't see it. Maybe they shouldn't be so quick to judge! You could see the shock on the other teams faces, it was great!

Ken and Austin, the Brown Team, needed to lose more than 24 pounds to be safe, they did that and more! Ken lost 14 pounds and Austin lost 16 pounds. 30 pounds total. I am noticing a trend though, the Gray Team lost 23 pounds total, Kaylee, who is a small contestant, lost 9 pounds and Moses lost 14. Both these teams consistently lose big numbers each week, well, except last week. As a group did the "unknowns" decide to throw in the previous week to get big numbers on the ranch? Maybe it was access to the ranch and it was easier to lose weight. I keep finding myself leaning both ways; Moses and Kaylee don't seem like that type, but who knows?

The last team to weigh-in was the Pink Team, Deni and Sarah needed to lose more than 16 pounds total to beat the Red Team and be safe for another week. It seemed that all of the "unknowns" were hoping to get rid of the Red Team, but can the Pink Team pull it off? Sarah lost 9 pounds and Deni lost 11! Awesome numbers for their size and enough to keep them around.

Now for the elimination, who was going to go home, Q or Larialmy? They both want to stay but they want Q to stay more. Q promised Larialmy that he would work hard in front of all the "unknowns." Larialmy told them that she would be very hurt if they went against her wishes and she thinks that if they are truly a "family" that they wouldn't hurt her like that. The teams, Rulon and Justin especially, were very vocal (what else is new?) and said that they didn't want to "carry" Q anymore. Will they respect the wishes of their "family" or do what they want and send Q home?

They chose to respect Larialmy's wishes and sent her home. I hope Q shows them that he belongs on the show and beats them each week in the weigh-in. I just hope he doesn't become another Dan/Don. The update showed that Larialmy has lost 74 pounds total and has been inspiring her family to lose weight as well.

Don's update showed that he has lost 87 pounds. He and his brother are losing weight on their own at home. I just wish they would have figured that out before taking the place of people who would have done well on the ranch. BUT, I am happy to see that they are doing well and Don now has a relationship with his son again.

Next week the teams are going Black vs. Red, but I think it will still be the "unknowns" vs "ranch" teams. The sneak peak shows that there will be another temptation next week, with my favorite, chocolate!
