Some Creative Pranks to Pull at Work

Dale Miller
If you have a job or go to school, then you know it can get repetitious and boring. Everyone needs a little variety in their work week. Watching or hearing about a prank that was committed recently really lifts up the mood around the work place. Unless of course, the joke is on you and you are so embarrassed that you want to hide under the table. If the prank was on you and you can handle the consequences then that at least gives you motivation and ammo to get the ball rolling. It's payback time.

Recent pranks that I have seen, been involved in or heard about include:

The Quarter

Take a shiny silver quarter and glue it to the floor. Preferably if you have a good number of people that will pass by it throughout the day. This will work just about anywhere. Even on your boss or teacher. Watch as people eye it up on the floor and then act like nobody is watching as they try to snatch it up. This really happened and this supervisor even tried to pick it up then she got mad because it was stuck there and people were wasting time talking about it and not working.

The Grandma

Have someone go ask another person how their grandma rides a bike. Then they ask the other person that already knows what's going on and in on the prank. The person being asked about their grandma says with a serious look, my grandma has no legs. If things go they way they should, you'll have someone feel awkward and guilty about bringing up that sore subject about another person's grandma.

The Pickup

So you work with people that pickup items in boxes or bags throughout the day. This one is hard to watch especially if it's done right. Make a slice in the bottom of the bag so when they pick it up, there is a nice display of spillage. Turn over the box so you cut the tape on the bottom, but then turn it over leaving the items ready to fall out the bottom when the box is picked up.

Letter Mix up

If you have computers at work or school and you want to watch someone be confused about their computer, then switch some of the letter keys on the keyboard. Don't do too many because it will be too obvious and not to mention harder to put them all back if you need to replace them all to their original spots.

The Cord

Ask someone about borrowing or buying a cordless extension cord. They should say the name of a hardware store for finding one there. If your really good, have them call the store for you and ask the salesman if there are any in stock and how much. See if they can put one on hold for you. This one really happened and it went as far as the salesman actually going to check the stock.

good ones. We hid a coworker's mouse ball for a week and put little clues in there so he could find it. (=
