Diet Break
Try a "eat what I feel like eating" day (or two...just don't over indulge!). Forget about the diets, salads and grilled sole. Go for the pasta and a glass of wine. Order the dessert you've been eyeing all night! Empower yourself sometimes, instead of always denying yourself!
Start A Special Savings Account
Nothing will improve your feelings of independence and esteem like saving extra money! Try to get your credit card interest rates reduced. Try cutting up one or two. Open a savings account just for the extra savings you will be accumulating. Make coffee at home, pack a lunch, and invite friends in for wine instead of going out. Find other ways to save money on a daily or weekly basis, and watch your special savings account grow!
Break The Dating Habit
If you have been dating and feel like you are in a rut, break the dating habit for a while and just pamper yourself. Indulge in extra bubble baths. Read those long novels you've been too busy too get into. Go to a movie by yourself. Find your special interests and hobbies and really spend time developing and enjoying those interests. Get Chinese take out and curl up to a movie night with all your favorites. Spending time with you is a good thing.
Plan Some Alone Time
If you are married, find different ways to pamper yourself. Be creative and determined when it comes to getting some alone time-no husband and no kids. Maybe set aside one evening a week that is just for you. Have a babysitter if your husband can't watch the kids, and go to the gym or a movie or just take a long undisturbed bath while reading your favorite book.
Indulge Your Dreams
If you have some regrets about a venture you never tried to do, do it now! Get moving on a plan to achieve your heart's desire. Motion creates motion. The more you indulge in your dreams, even as a hobby, the more you will become engaged and the more you will grow. If you always wanted to have a boutique selling baby clothes, then start blogging about it. If you always dreamed of being the next Mrs. Field's, then start baking and selling at local swap meets, for example. Just start moving with your dream goal in front of you.
These are just a very few things that I think women should try and do for themselves whenever possible. Working on yourself, and your well-being is essential if women are to grow spiritually and emotionally in life. Women have long been the "nurturers" of the world. Maybe it's time we remember to also nurture our selves.
