Some Halloween Outsiders

Why Some Do Not Celebrate Halloween in America

MichaelTaylor
Some people in America just do not celebrate Halloween because they have personal religious, social and moral beliefs that are different from those who do celebrate the event each year. Halloween today is celebrated and associated with what some call unpleasant events and fascination with the dead or evil. But its origin is very different. See Halloween at: http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/252875/Halloween for an historical perspective.

But regardless of the origin of the Celebration, in America, because of how the events are embraced, some just do not believe in participating with others who do.

Many people in America are religious and their personal faith is often contrary to the party and celebration characteristics of Halloween. Traditional Christians from the different denominations will often say Halloween is very contrary to Bible Teachings and Principles according to righteousness and Godly Living. Those who know the written teachings, writings and life of Christ and the Apostles from the Christian Bible New Testament, they will agree that modern day Halloween celebrations are very different from Bible Living Principles.

Although the law in American endorses the right to free speech and expression, some still say it is unlawful behavior the way many people do during the month of October leading up-to Halloween Day on the 31st of the month. The laws in America do not endorse bad behavior. But that does not mean some people will not seek to abuse it because it is Halloween.

Halloween is also associated with other global festivities such as Carnival in Brazil and the Caribbean. The costumes, dances, drinking and party spirit that are attached to carnival are also a regular part of Halloween. Many see the face painting and dead-like make-up as inviting unclean events into their lives that are associated with the dead and evil rituals. While wearing party clothes are not a crime or necessarily bad, because of the nature of the events and Halloween, they are not acceptable to many. And this may not be the same as a birthday party or the 4th of July celebrations in America.

The commercialization of Halloween is another reason. Some will say big companies and individuals are using the event of Halloween to unfairly profit from the misguided beliefs of others. Movies with the theme of horror often succeed beyond the norm during this period, if they are well made and advertised. This is sometimes perceived as exploitation. Halloween may make this possible, beyond the norm, and this will offend some people. Others will enjoy the movies because all year they do. But some will just see this as another means to profit from ignorance and a desire for people to be scared in the name of entertainment.

Another significant reason why many do not celebrate the event has to do with the Worship of Evil. There are many beliefs in the world and some maybe associated with the dead and events connected in some way to the dead. This is where current Halloween Celebrations are mentioned in because of the nature and some aspects of the celebrations. Devil Worshipping, as some will call it, is still alive as a form of worship or Cult Religion. Those who practice this form of living, often help to promote Halloween for their own recruitment via the internet using videos and articles. Many parents, for example, will often say they have to be vigilant during this time of year to ensure that their children do not venture unto websites that attract this form of worship. Now Halloween is not the cause of this, the historical or main reason, but the event will attract those people who seek to use others festivities for their own unpleasant purposes.

Halloween is therefore an event that provokes different beliefs and feelings from different people. Some see the celebration as jus fun, while for others is stems from evil and promotes evil. Whatever the beliefs, like most things in life in America, many just will not accept and celebrate this event.

END.
