Some Hats for Women for the 135th Kentucky Derby

Ooh Lah Lah, Tres Chic

Ooh lah lah, Trés Chic...The Kentucky Derby comes but once a year. That is why a woman's hat has to be just perfect.

If you plan on going to the Kentucky Derby, you had better plan on spending more on your hat than on the entire trip itself. That is only natural since the hats are the talk of the race. No matter what horse wins, a woman had better have the perfect hat. So, to help you out a little, I have come up with six hats that you might want to check out at the websites provided. The prices for these hats are not available on the websites, but they do have e mail addresses you can contact to get this information.

The first is www.deescrafts.com/hats. Oh my, check out the one of a kind hand made by their lead Hat Designer, Kathy. It has sinamay that comes straight from suppliers in England. Since there is no price listed on the website, I really hate to think of what the price might be. But, hey, the Kentucky Derby is a once a year event, and a perfect hat is a must.

The next four hats come from www.maggiemae.com/derby.htm.

The first hat is called the "Mykele's 'Cinco de Mayo' Derby Hat". This hat not only celebrates the Kentucky Derby but also "Cinco de Mayo". It has wavy organza layers in red and black, it is black dupioni silk, and has red chiffon rose curls, mustard dupioni silk sash, and is accented with deep green shantung leaves.

The next hat is "Daisy". It is a double brimmed hat with scallop brim edges. The color is Over the Moon orange and it is also dupioni silk. A chocolate taffeta sash, chocolate organza rose curl, and taffeta leaves also adorn this hat.

Third from Maggie Mae is a hat called "Shirley". This is a beautiful black and ivory polka dotted dupioni silk hat. With a black taffeta sash, a single red fleur, and black silk organza leaves this hat will make people turn their heads and look again.

The next hat is "Marilyn". Now this hat is a hot pink one with a two tone hot pink and black bow. It is accented with sparkling diamonds. Talk about Trés Chic, this hat is it.

Now if you really want to stand out in the crowd, you may want to go for the "Scarlett" hat. Bright red in color and with a red satin sash and long tails, this hat will make people take notice to you. It is also adorned with chiffon rose curls and delicate red beading.
