The strongest force in out society seems to be money. More so, the power behind money. If you have it, you can do anything. If you don't have it, you try so hard to ensure that you can earn it. Money is a necessary component to basically everything. Raising a child requires money, as does paying the bills, eating, watching television and many other things. Managing money the right way is important. Nothing in this world is free and you need to keep that in your head. Money is important, and that fact is sad. If money, or lack of money, is an issue, start to think of how you can earn more. For some, getting a part time job on top of their full time job is an option but when you are a single parent, that isn't usually a good option. You need to spend time with your child and working more than eight to ten hours a day would make that quite hard. There are many at home jobs that you can do but they aren't too easy to find. Cutting costs is a great place to start, if possible. Don't spend money on eating out or entertainment if you can avoid it. Never go grocery shopping when you are hungry. Studies have shown that a hungry person will spend as much as double if they shopped shortly after eating a meal at home. Ask for free samples in doctors offices or anywhere possible. That can cut costs a little bit. Cut coupons and use them. That can shave off a few bucks a week from your grocery bills. Stock up when your grocery store is having a buy one get one type of sale. Freeze whatever you can as well. Find other mothers to barter with for babysitting. That way, if you need a sitter, you have one for free. Just make sure you return the favor whenever possible. If you need public assistance, get it. Don't be ashamed to accept help when need be. Food stamps and WIC are there for you to utilize if necessary. They can save you a few hundred dollars a month on food. If you qualify for assistance, you may also qualify for child care assistance so that you can work, or go to school if you chose to.
Going to school is a great way to ensure your future as well as your child's future, if you do not have a steady career already. Many parents go to college and start their careers before having a family, but some do not get to. If you didn't before having children, now is the time. It shows your child how important education is and what the outcome can be if you get a college education. There is a lot of assistance for single parents attending school. You may qualify for grants, which you do not have to pay back, as well as scholarships. Colleges really cater to single parents that are trying to better their lives for their children so there is usually extra assistance available as well such as childcare on premises.
If child support is a possibility, go for it. Applying for child support is not a hard thing to do if you want to do it. There are helpful people around to guide you in the right direction. There are a couple of tips that may help you out when trying to get child support. Get an attorney if you feel it may be necessary. Don't think that the paperwork is too much to handle or that you won't win. Do not give up. Having faith helps.
There are many resources out there to ensure that you are the best parent that you can be. Loving that child is the first step to all parenting problems. Everything else can be solved by doing your homework and having faith in yourself as a parent.
