Some Honeymoon - Northport, Alabama

"Oh, Calvin, how I love to be with you!", Barbara exclaimed. Barbara was madly in love with Calvin.

Calvin, saying nothing for a minute, while concentrating on navigating around a steep turn on the road, smiled and made kissing noises.

Then, after getting the Ford 1979 Thunderbird, painted a '57 Chevy lime green with matching turquoise green trim, around the sharp curve in the road, said, "I love you madly, Barbara", while pulling the car over to the side of the road, for a quick make-out session. Calvin was also drastically in love with Barbara.

The radio blearily cranked out classic rock tunes over a background of static with infrequent mechanical warnings, as if the machine itself wanted to take a nap, while the couple gave their flames air and combined heat, which quickly ended as a police cruiser pulled in back of the car.

Calvin quickly zipped up his pants, pulled out his wallet, and flashed a gigantic silver badge at the officer as he was stomping professionally over to the Ford, small clipboard and collection box in hand. The officer walked back to his vehicle, and gave a flashing light signal with matching horn noise, almost like a wedding call on the way back out to the road.

Nevertheless, the mood was over with. Barbara, who was still straightening out the neckline of her dress, batted her eyes in dismay as Calvin stated, matter-of-factly, "Well, that was one three-alarm fire that got doused." The couple fastened their seat belts, and shared a soda pop before getting back on the road.

The news broadcast burst into the programming, discussing haunted properties in the area. One of the places mentioned, purportedly haunted by an axe wielding priest phantom, was the place that these newlyweds would be going to, to a large wooded lot in Northport, Alabama. This lot had formerly been home to a 20 room mansion, which the priest had died in when it mysteriously burned to the ground.

Calvin had ordered up only a small "guest house", a one room 20' x 25' loft, not much larger than a tool shed, and a new recreational vehicle to be delivered to the lot. Both had extensive fire alarms and extinguishers added to them. Calvin was a cautious individual who was not going to take any chances.

He had previously returned to the lot, and had replaced the one acre of woodland that the guest house and RV would be on with a rock garden. Several priests had consecrated the lot, including a Roman Catholic priest, who had exorcised the property of any demons.

Calvin's family was confident that this would be an excellent location for their honeymoon.
