Some Memorable Moments of the 2011 BET Award Show that Some May Have Not Noticed

Facebook is filled with much buzz from the 2011 BET Awards show. There has been plenty to say about some of the spectacular performances like the memorable collaboration of Ms. Anita Baker with Mary J. Blige and also the Five Heart Beats appearance alongside After 7. Some of the solo performances have also received raved reviews, like the gifted and beautiful sounds of Ms. Jill Scott followed by the wonderful Alicia Keys. However, what perhaps stood out the most at this year's BET award show, at least amongst Facebookers, besides the funny and hilarious jokes of the host Kevin Hart-has been the wardrobe of some.

Rick Ross received much scrutiny for his perhaps modern day rendition of the Notorious BIG with a open button down Versace shirt, in which withheld none of his indiscretions. Another disturbing matter for many of the Facebookers was the outfit of Chris Brown during his performance, or as the Facebookers like to refer to his entity as "#team-breezy". Chris brown appeared atop an elevated platform in the middle of the stage draped in something like a two piece suit. The only catch was that this suit was equipped with some over-sized knee padding alongside the his knee-caps and over sized shoulder pads, that at first made it seem as if he had no arms nor hands at all. Yet, just when you thought it couldn't get any weirder, Nicki Minaj was dressed in a rather conservative ensemble, compared to her usual outspoken attire.

As no one was safe from being exploited, as so stated by Kevin Hart, Facebookers also pointed out the extremely undersized pants seemingly affixed to the son of Will & Jada Smith. Another youthful sight sporting these extremely fitted jeans was also the son of the legendary Rev. Run from Run DMC, during his pre-show performance. Other acts sporting this new, yet uncomfortable looking trend in attire included acts such as Roscoe Dash and 'lil Twist. They also seem to be keeping the classy mo-hawk style hair cut going, as inspired by the legendary actor and athlete Mr. T.

Even more of an awkward moment than anything else during the BET award show may have been toward the end of the show when an award featuring candidates Chris Brown and Rhianna in the same category was announced. At first, the winner was announced to be Chris Brown, then abruptly, the announcer stated "my-bad", I mean Rhianna. The theater soon became quiet as if there was an elephant in the room, while Drake made his way to the stage to receive the award in both their honor. After that moment, chuckles and whispers could be heard over the crowd discussing what just happened. However, later on in the show, Kevin Hart came to stage to make sense of the mix-up and to announce that Chris Brown was the actual winner. Wow! What an awkward moment!

In spite of all of the dialog of many Facebookers about the BET award show, there seemed to be none that took notice to the producers & sound technicians and their tardy performance with muting out vulgar language. On several occasions, there were incidences where profanity could clearly be heard over the microphone, from performances from people like Rick Ross, 'lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes and even #team-breezy. Because the BET award show holds rehearsals for events like this, it made it seem unbelievable and rather distasteful of the lack-luster performance of the producers of the award show. In anticipation of some profane words, the Q-man made attempts at "bleeping" out the aggressive dialog, but time and time over it was to no avail. There was even an attempt to steer the camera away from a moment in Kelly Rowland's performance when she was being spanked repeatedly by Trey-Songz during the finale of her still spectacular performance overall.

Some other highlights of the evening also included the State Farm Humanitarian award to the legendary Steve Harvey for his tremendous mentoring work with the youth of our nation. There was also a special yet hesitant moment for Justin Bieber, in his debut appearance on the BET award show, when approached by Nicki Minaj and team Barbie. Even though the lines were scripted, Bieber still displayed a nervous persona when reciting the dialog. Perhaps the best highlight of the evening however, was when Gladys night appeared on stage and announced the BET lifetime achievement award to Ms. Patti Labelle, whom hit the stage with her glamorous self and did what she does best. The only thing missing was that she didn't "Kick off them shoes".

In all, the theatrics of the BET award show was fun and entertaining, according to Facebookers. Much anticipation about every one's favorite performer was expressed, with minute-by-minute updates, as the live status streams on Facebook continued moving with newer and newer posts.

Kevin Hart also done what he promised and kept those in attendance very entertained, from the live spectators to the viewers at home. Surely, this year's BET award show seems to have been a memorable one that will go down in the history books, according to Facebookers.
