Some Reasons to Shop Online

Lee VanAmee
I have been shopping online for almost a decade, and I must admit, I am addicted to it. When I want to socialize and be out and about shopping, I usually go to buy things like fresh fruit or veggies or something that only my neighborhood stores or restaurants carry.

Here are some reasons I have come up with as to why I prefer to shop online most of the time:

Money: It is much easier to look up price differences, item quality, reviews and the like; if you are already on the internet itself. And you are at a place where you can concentrate and focus. When you are already at the store it is harder to pull up every item you are looking at in real time and even though the stores say they match competitors prices, you always see and hear the customers in the customer service line say that the sales person didn't tell them about "this" other stores pricing, until you got home and researched it. Also, you will get discounts after you order from an online store a few times, they are getting wise to the internet customer and they are trying to compete for your dollars.

Convenience: Point, Click, Pay. No traffic, no gas run, no carrying, no time wasted. If you do want to shop the store in the comfort of your pajamas, well, no one cares. Some of the grocery stores I shop at online have my regular list or new ones all saved so I can look up prices and what I usually order, that way I can add to it whenever I think of something during the week, and by the time I click checkout, it's complete!

Time saver: If you are out and about you usually waste hours running from one store to the next trying to get either the best bargain or the merchandise you need really is at 4 or 5 different stores. Another way this wastes your time is, more than likely you will browse other items in each store and then you will have to stand in line with everyone else to wait to pay for your items. So, traffic, energy, stress level and money are being drawn out here.

Hours: The online stores never close, they are always happy to see you!

Of course it all depends on your style. If you are an extrovert you may get too lonely just pointing and clicking (I guess you could add a chat room, though). And if it's a nice sunny day in May, there is usually an irresistible urge to go out and be with the masses at the mega mall! I guess the happy medium is to do both types of shopping!
