Some Recent Opinions on Weight Loss!!!

Here are some recent findings/opinions on weight loss that a weight loss enthusiast may be interested in. Sudden weight loss is unhealthy, and crash dieting is one of the most unhealthy way of losing weight. Exercise, in any form is indispensible when it comes to healthy weight loss.

Jogging and weight loss:

Running might not be the ideal form of exercise, especially if you want to lose weight. Fat is one of our body's favourite sources of energy, the more you run, the more your body prepares itself for your next run. You will actually start to hold on to more fat.

The more time you spend running, the better you become at running and the more efficient you get, the less energy you use and the fewer calories you burn. Running is also bad for joints. When you run, two-and-a-half times your bodyweight is transmitted through our joints. If that force is repeated over and over, eventually our weakest joint will give out. Usually the ankles or the knees are the first to go.

Contrary to popular belief that any exercise will speed up your metabolism, running can, do the opposite.

Indian kitchen spices for speeding up weight loss:

India, is known for its spices: cinnamon, pepper, cardamom, turmeric, red pepper, among others. These aromatic spices have long been used to cure common ailments and are in fact, in Indian tradition, hailed as "medicines of the kitchen".

Recent research shows that to keep off weight, improve absorption of sugar into the bloodstream or reduce harmful cholesterol, adding or increasing the amount of these spices in our diet will go a long way in helping you feel light and energetic.

However, do take note that a doctor's advice is of utmost importance before you increase your intake of these five spices. Excess intake might lead to other complications.

Balancing exercise with right diet plan:

It is very important to balance your workout and food. People tend to overeat after a workout, which is normal considering that exercise stimulates hunger. But one should eat the right food and not each and everything.

Experts suggest that one should avoid carbohydrates and fats like sugar, colas, pastas, ice creams and junk food and replace them with green salads, fresh fruit, egg whites and milk. Also avoid biscuits and chocolates.

In case you are craving to eat something, grab a handful of nuts like almonds, walnuts and peanuts - they are very filling and not fattening at all.

Alcohol and weight gain:

According to conventional wisdom, the infamous "beer belly" is caused by excess alcohol calories being stored as fat. Yet, less than five percent of the alcohol calories you drink are turned into fat. Rather, the main effect of alcohol is to reduce the amount of fat your body burns for energy. Not only does too much alcohol put the brakes on fat loss, it's also one of the most effective ways to slash your testosterone levels. Just a single bout of heavy drinking raises levels of the muscle-wasting hormone cortisol and increases the breakdown of testosterone for up to 24 hours.
