Some Things Never Change
On ever-shifting sand.
An icy wind I couldn't see
Blew swiftly 'cross the land.
The clouds were ever-changing mists
Amid the steel-gray skies.
Torrential rains reshaped the beach
Before my very eyes.
"Is nothing stable?"
This I heard
Inside my pensive mind.
Then came the answer from above
From God,
So wise and kind.
"My Bible never changes.
It's constant 'til the end.
My Word will be your strength and shield:
A loyal, faithful friend.
Your Jesus never changes.
He's the same as yesterday.
He'll guide your life and walk your path,
Beside you all the way."
Seasons change and beauty fades,
And kingdoms fall apart.
One day, never-ending joy
Will fill my mind and heart.
In a city bright and bold,
Where beauty never dies,
I'll see God's ever-shining love
In my sweet Savior's eyes.
