Some Tips for Attracting Money for the Freelance Writer

Most of us that write for Associated Content and other clients do so because we want to make money. Our big dream is to be able to make a living doing what we love: writing. Unfortunately, attracting money for the freelance writer isn't always easy, and can be one of the most difficult things you can undertake. There is so much riding on whether or not you succeed and are able to attract the money via high paying gigs to you.

One thing to keep in mind is that focusing so strongly on making money and on the outcome of attracting money can actually create blockages for the freelance writer. The more you think you "have" to make money, the more you believe that without making a lot of money as a freelance writer you cannot be happy, the more frustrated you are going to be when the money isn't showing up. And thus the longer it may take for you to attract those high paying gigs.

The good news is that there are steps you can take that will make it easier to attract more money and those higher paying gigs to you. Here are some ideas to make it easier.

1. Relax!

The more tense and serious you are about making more money freelance writing, the harder you are going to find it to be. Instead view making money freelance writing as fun, and a numbers game. Try different mixtures of freelance writing such as article writing, fiction writing, and e-book writing for example. If you work towards being lighthearted and easy going about getting high paying gigs and making more money as a freelance writer, everything else will fall into place. Positive energy attracts prosperity, and so the more positive you are about your freelance writing career, the more likelihood you'll begin attracting those high paying gigs and more money! In addition you will attract more love, joy, fun and passion in all the other areas of your life.

2. Pretend that you are already attracting the high paying freelance writing gigs.

I realize this sounds strange, but often when you pretend mentally that something is already true, the very thing you are pretending will become true. One of the bigger obstacles to attracting money and higher paying gigs for freelance writers is that they have a here and there mentality. In other words, you're here now, struggling to attract the higher paying gigs and more money, and you are trying to get there where this is already a truth. Here's the thing, there is no here or there, it is a construct of your mind. There is only this minute and what you are doing in this minute and communicating to the universe right now is how you are creating what is happening in your physical reality. So, if you always have a here and there mentality, you most likely will never get "there." But if you act like there here is always what you want to achieve there, then this energy that you send out will bring you what you want.

3. Leave your worry behind.

This is one of the hardest parts about attracting money for the freelance writer. The worry about how the money will arrive, how the higher paying freelance gigs will arrive. Focusing on this obsessively is just going to make you nuts. Instead trust that the universe will decide how the money and higher paying gigs will come and they will arrive. Keep your eyes open for higher paying opportunities, and then act on them when you see them. However, otherwise detach and know that those higher paying gigs and extra money are on their way to you. I realize this easier to say than it is to do, but the more that you try to control how the higher paying gigs and money arrive, the more blockages you are going to create to increasing your prosperity as a freelance writer.

Finally make sure you let go of when the money and higher paying freelance writing gigs will arrive. If you set a deadline, you could be sabotaging yourself before you even get started. The universe has its own timing and while we may think we know best, it always does! Just trust and let go and the money and the higher paying gigs will arrive.
