Some Tips to Keep You Motivated to Work Out
Whether You like a Home Gym or Not, Some Tips to Stay Motivated
But the real factor in getting motivated to work out is using good equipment. Maybe you're not sure what you need. You might want to try an elliptical trainer or weights. Or do both. You might like to jog on a treadmill even if it's icy outside. A gym at home with good equipment is good for people who are shy or don't like gyms in general.
Buy the best equipment you can afford, if you can't use it because its poorly made, uncomfortable or broken, it defeats the purpose of buying it. There are some things that work pretty good that you can get on TV like the perfect pushup or a stability ball. But not all treadmills are created the same. I used to like my Nordic track. I don't have it anymore, but I would watch TV while using it. A good multitasking skill.
Personally, I like going to a gym. But if I can't get to it, I walk with hiking sticks adjusted to my height and use the stability ball for sit ups. The hiking sticks make the workout 50% more effective and are safer than plain walking. And walking is pretty safe. So there's even less risk of injury and you can do 30 minutes and its like doing 45 minutes.
Some people like to use music to help their workout. It might help. But recently I went for a walk without music and it was really nice. I don't use headphones at the gym because they have music there. Although I don't really like it, it is distracting.
Whatever motivates you to workout, is good. Just don't over do it and injure yourself, I used to get blisters when I walked so much and had to switch to an elliptical trainer. Its helped me increase my fitness. But you have to use weights in conjunction with an elliptical trainer or bike to prevent losing bone mass.
So whether you like working out at home, or at a gym, or outside, the key is to keep it up to keep happy and healthy. And eat nutritious foods so you don't become malnourished. I don't care if they wanted me to be a model. I don't like being too skinny. I don't think its healthy and I don't look that good with no curves.
