Some Useful Kitchen Herbs for Body Detoxification

These commonly available herbs/spices have been traditionally used by herbalists for general detoxification and purification of our body. Most of these herbs/spices are easily available in our kitchen.

1.ALOE VERA:It not only removes toxins from our digestive system, but also tones it up to enhance its capacity to absorb vital nutrients. It is one of the best hepato-protective herb i.e. it is an excellent tonic for the liver. Besides liver, it also has beneficial effect on skin, uterus and respiratory system.

2.CINNAMON:Cinnamon is known to possess stimulant, carminative and anti-microbial properties. It is one of the best spice for regulating blood sugar level. It is also know for regulating the cholesterol level in our blood. It has also been found to provide relief for those suffering from arthritis. It also helps in weight loss by increasing the rate of metabolism.

3.CUMIN SEEDS:Cumin is known for its anti-oxidant properties due to its potent free-radical scavenging abilities as well as the ability to enhance liver's detoxification enzymes.

4.CORIANDER:It increases urinary output and helps cleanse the body. It contains many useful micronutrients that are responsible for its detoxification properties.

5.CURRY LEAVES: Daily consumption of curry leaves improves the functioning of liver. It also acts against flatulence, sluggish stomach, improves the functioning of our intestines and enhances the immunity of the body.

6.DRUMSTICK:It improves the immunity of our body as it contains essential amino acids and is a good source of Vitamins A and C, protein, calcium, potassium, magnesium, selenium and zinc. Besides its antioxidant properties, it also regulates blood glucose level and helps in cleansing liver and kidneys.

7.FENNEL SEEDS:It helps in overcoming acidity, stomach cramps, indigestion and other disorders of the digestive tract. It is also beneficial to liver and helps in production of bile. It also possesses diuretic, pain reducing and anti-microbial properties.

8.FENUGREEK: Fenugreek seeds have been traditionally used to treat high blood sugar and high blood pressure. It is also one of potent herbs for blood purification. It contains natural expectorant properties and is good source of natural Selenium, which helps in efficient utilization of oxygen in our body and also helps in scavenging free radicals.

9.GINGER:It is known for possessing anti-emetic, cardiac tonic, anti-bacterial, anti-oxidant, hepato-protective, anti-inflammatory.
