Someday This Will Happen to Us All

John Smither
During a recent conversation

We were chatting

About this and that

Nothing riveting

Just chewing the fat

As we stood there

A funeral car drives by

Causing some consternation

To the other guy

He is somewhat overcome

Obviously suffering with grief

What tragedy had become

Had recently passed

He didn't suffer

He said, when it happened

It was all over fast

His uncle is now

Onto the other side

He is now at peace

Into the place

Where he will now reside

Pain he will suffer no more

No longer his to endure

He is able to sleep now

No worries

For evermore
