I sigh and take in a deep breath
I hope to awaken one day soon
eager to live, excited about the day
instead of dreading getting up
and finding out what horror will greet me.
Someday I would like to wake up
and smile at the sun
streaming through my window
and be happy to listen to the birds joyful songs.
Someday I would like to wake up
and be able to relax and be happy
knowing that you are mine
and I am yours
knowing that nothing will change that
believing, trusting, and loving
semper fidelis
always faithful.
Someday I would like to wake up
and still be able to dream.
I hope to awaken one day soon
eager to live, excited about the day
instead of dreading getting up
and finding out what horror will greet me.
