Somehow It's Worse to Burn the Koran Than the Bible?

Snidely Whiplash
I'm afraid Bill O' Reilly is right...there is a culture war in this nation. Western and specifically American culture are under continuous assault from many quarters, foreign and domestic. I get a Muslim not caring for Christian's or the Bible, but what of those from the West who sympathize with such an asinine point of view?

How is it "worse" to burn a Koran than a Bible? I know the arm-chair theological argument - the Bible are stories, allegories, etc., from God on how we are to comport ourselves as well as the story of Jesus, but the Koran is the word of Allah passed on to the Prophet and written down directly, or some rough approximation of that scenario. Horse hockey! Both are books written by MEN, HUMANS, EARTHLY CREATURES...get it?

At the risk of personal jihad against me, as if I give a rat's ass, neither book is superior to the other. Devout Christian's hold their Bible as dear as Muslim's hold the Koran...end of story. Any other position by an American is simply a talking point to use to denigrate America and the West, or more specifically the Constitution, capitalism and basically any other central tenet of this nation.

Do others find the leftist as odd and glaringly transparent as I do in their forwarding of Islam as so wonderful and righteous, deserving of respect, and maybe even accepting of Sharia Law, yet they then savage American Christian's as being evil, bent on theocracy? I mean Sharia is theocracy in practice, yet these lefties are fine with it, but a Christian just being a Christian is inherently dangerous and theocratic. This is pure hypocrisy for the purposes of further eroding American ideals, morals and yes, our Founding too! It's all connected.

There is a cadre of dedicated American leftist believers who seem to feel nearly every American belief and tradition is worthy of attack, denigration and potential destruction. I used to be puzzled by such positions these fools would forward but as each day passes it's more and more clear it is an intentional effort to belittle America. These people are unhappy and convinced of their own life-changing importance of their positions.

I couldn't grasp how an American could find his own nation so flawed. I heard them forward that they were standing for right and truth, human rights and all the crap they spew and I accepted that for a time in an effort to "live and let live." This is America and one can hold whatever the Hell position one wishes even if it is childish and completely misinformed, but I have moved from my formerly more accepting stance. These clowns hate the structure of this nation - capitalism, individual autonomy and small government.

I used to try and grant lefties their premises on the concept that everyone's opinion had equal merit regardless of my agreement or lack thereof...BTW, isn't that the epitome of my evil, conservative butt actually living all that "live and let live" nonsense the left blathers on about? The equal merit of all positions they pretend is their position? So I actually live their mantras and they actually are the hypocrites and haters...I love it!

I came to my conclusions in the Summer of 2004. As if acting on secret marching orders from their masters suddenly, all over the nation gay couples were showing up on Courthouse steps to be married. I found the timing odd, seemingly organized and damned fortunate in the extreme if one were a lefty and wished to illustrate how hateful Republican's are for not letting gay people in love be married. Nice try lefties. Recall that was the height of the Bush reelection campaign versus John "I'd As Soon Flip As Flop" Kerry.

I realized that all my previous efforts to be inclusive and accepting were totally misplaced. I was in fact helping those who wanted to see my ideology run asunder by my acceptance of their premises without too much questioning on my part. I am no fool despite what a lefty might think. My accepting of their asinine wishes was merely me trying to live the position of a true American...live and let live in freedom and autonomy. And I still feel that way but I no longer accept their foolish concepts on merit.

And so it was with the Summer of 2004. It was all an organized effort to make Kerry and Democrats look like the loving and accepting ones and anyone who did not agree was a bigoted hater, a la Bush and anyone who supported him. For those who do not see the connection between the Summer 2004 effort and the "Koran is more Holy than the Bible," you're not looking at the connections with a critical eye. Nothing is as it seems on the surface and leftists will tell one they are a paranoid fool if one challenges them on it.

Yet notice that radical leftists believe in the conspiracy of "star chambers" and such foolishness. Sure there is collusion between government and business...always has been and always will be so no news there. And there is surely collusion between lefties and GE, so tell me again where the disparity is in any of this?

I am empirical in the extreme...what does the evidence indicate regardless of any bias I may posses? Any non-partisan examination will reveal a continuing series of efforts by the left to call into question and attempt to embarrass those who do not agree with them. This "The Koran is more sacred" idiocy is just another in a long line of leftist efforts to make people think the US and our society and culture are in dire need of change and that anyone not agreeing with these lefties needs to get their "mind right." Don't make me wretch.

I don't care for whatever tactic being employed in another effort to denigrate fellow American's for not agreeing with the leftist position. As I've said before, if leftism delivered on its promises I'd be one. Leftism has never delivered in any long term and sustainable manner anything they forward and I am a lot of things but a dreamer and one who has convinced myself my brain and thought process superior to others, not so much. The evidence is leftism is a pipe dream. So what does that say about their "true believers?"

Frankly I don't care for those that burn Bibles or Korans and I don't believe any of it anyway but morally it's exactly the same thing and to Hell with lefty apologists and their ignorant, BS positions and pronouncements...as if leftism has EVER been right about anything! I demand they prove what they want works. Just demanding it is not reason to cave to their asinine premises. Prove it or get over it.

"I realized that all my previous efforts to be inclusive and accepting were totally misplaced. I was in fact helping those who wanted to see my ideology run asunder by my acceptance of their premises without too much questioning on my part." - That's the story of my life, too, until, I had my epiphany (only mine was on AC just last year). I am still "Live and Let Live", but with a quite appropriate twist: "I have about as much respect for your positions, beliefs, and views as you have for mine". END OF STORY!

"Do others find the leftist as odd and glaringly transparent as I do"--they live in Opposite World.

The left has become radicalized. It has gone to the extreme, beyond what used to be known as 'liberal.' Tolerance for others' point of view has gone so far as to subvert one's own points of view, which include American values, cultures, and religions.

you may hurt my feelings if your burned my Bible, but I won't kill you. God's word is in my heart.

Actually Whippy, I believe the bible is the inherent word of God, His very own God-breathed diary, but anyway, I get what you're saying. I wouldn't burn the bible, the koran or some guy's auto repair manual because burning other people's stuff is just plain ignorant! Cheers :)

F451 is probably a bad idea no matter what the fuel.
