Sometimes

A Poem

Etienne J. Sarfelli
Sometimes I can still see you,

Taste you, hear you,

Smell your cologne

Feel you lying next to me

Sometimes I think it's a lie

That you're not really gone

But I know it's just wishful thinking

It's the romantic in me

That believes you're still here somehow

That It's not just fantasy

Sometimes I pretend that you never really left

That I know where you've been hiding

And one day when the time is right

I'll come and find you

But I know it's not really so

That I just never learned to let you go

And I understand that when I think

I can see you

It's only in my dreams

But sometimes when the world seems still

And I suddenly feel a gentle breeze

I believe it's you breathing beside me.
