Sometimes

Lisa Stanley

Sometimes

I make myself laugh

Find the giggles

Amid the tears

Sometimes

I try to hard

Fall back defeated

Find my way back

Crying and laughing all the way

Sometimes

My wishing breaks

Down my spirit

But a small light of hope

Sometimes finds me

The silence is deafening

Sometimes

When the tears have drained me

The laughter ceases

The hope becomes

A lingering flame

Beaten in the wind

Sometimes

I fall down

To weak to feel

To hurt to heal

Sometimes

I wonder how

The laughter still

Finds me

This is a powerful poem...it perfectly expresses how this disease can affect someone....I have been in that dark place many times. Excellent job.
