Sometimes (Crossroads of Faith)

Mike Powers

Sometimes,
As morning breaks
And dawn tiptoes across
The threshold of another day,
I look up to the sky and I behold
An infinite, empty expanse
Of randomness; turmoil
And disorder…

Sometimes

Days parade by
Like quicksilver, fleeting,
All too brief pages of my life.
No reason or rhyme, no meaning, no time
For me to stop and search myself
And discern the Divine
Spark within me.

Sometimes

I look into
The night sky and wonder:
"What lies out beyond the darkness,
And the twinkling stars, and silvery moon;
What brings calmness out of chaos,
And order from disarray?"
And time stands still…

Sometimes

In the quiet,
I feel something stir within -
A Presence; a Voice that whispers:
"Reach now beyond the infinite expanse
And the parade of fleeting days
And so find fulfillment;
I am with you
Always…"
