Somewhere in the Attic

Jersey

I've misplaced a word.

It's in my head somewhere,

Somewhere in the attic.

The word, the word...

Where is it?

Somewhere in the attic.

Digging through boxes,

Tattered and forgotten,

Somewhere in the attic.

Rifling through trunks,

Caked with dust and time,

Somewhere in the attic.

Is it hidden in this cupboard?

Or, hiding in this drawer,

Somewhere in the attic?

Aha! After long last,

I've found it! Now to put it to use.

Wait...no, not the right word after all.

Hunting, searching... once again,

Somewhere in the attic.

They say when women reach menopause they loose nouns...I think they go the same place as the other sock you can't find.

I know how that feels. Very good description. Personally, felt that "Somewhere in the Attic" was a little overused. Great overall.

I really enjoyed the flow of this poem. The right words can dramtically change the affect of a situation.
