Somewhere in a City

Phil Aldridge
Somewhere in a city
Through a crack in the concrete side walk
On a little patch of earth
A dandelion is born

Spring rains falls
The summer sun shines
And life is born from the lifeless city street

Slowly it grows
Reaching higher and higher
Towards the glory of the day

Opening and unfolding
Unveiling it raw beauty
A mirror image of the sun

Aging life
A beautiful puff of white
Like a cloud plucked from the sky

A little girl walking
Pulls it from the ground
And gives it's a gentle blow

Wafting with the winds
A seed glides with ease

Somewhere in a city
Through a crack in the concrete side walk
On a little patch of earth
A dandelion is born
