Song of God

Shirley A Mandel
While the world's people sing
the sweet bewitching song of self,

Waves of the sea crash upon the rocks,
for they are high sounding cymbols
of God's glory;

Wavelets flow over low rocks,
for they are flutes playing out
the melody of God;

Birds sing a perfect note of music,
for they are a choir
of God's meekest children,
And trees clap out the rhythem of praise
for all of nature to hear.

Rocks and trees,
Birds and seas
sing a song of God to me.
