You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave."

Our Country- John Melloncamp, 2007.

Ideals I think are right
And I can stand beside
The idea to stand and fight
I do believe
There's a dream for everyone
This is our country"

This Ragged Old Flag- Johnny Cash, 1974.

On a park bench, an old man was sittin' there.

He said, "Naw, it'll do for our little town."

American Made- Oak Ridge Boys, 1983
"Seems everything I buy these days
Has got a foreign name
From the kind of car I drive
To my video game

And standing next to me."

If you blew in from Boston no you sure won't have to wait

and the good old American way"

Stars and Striped Forever- John Philip Sousa, 1896

And liberty extend its mighty hand
A flag appears 'mid thunderous cheers,
The banner of the Western land.
The emblem of the brave and true
Its folds protect no tyrant crew;
The red and white and starry blue
Is freedom's shield and hope."

Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing;
Land where my fathers died,
Land of the pilgrims' pride,
From every mountainside
Let freedom ring!"

Will always recognize
When we see ol' glory flying,
There's a lot of men dead,
So we can sleep in peace at night when we lay down our head."

Thru the night with a light from above."

The first kick I took was when I hit the ground
You end up like a dog that's been beat too much
Till you spend half your life just covering up."

Great songs, Jessica. thanks for taking the time to research them. I believe every American should visit some other countries to realize how good we have it here. Just read an article on China. They don't have anything like Medicare or Social Security for their old people. Plus, by restricting their families to one child, their population is aging with no one to take care of them.
