Sonicare Elite 7300 Electric Toothbrush Review

I've always been a huge fan of the Sonicare electric toothbrush, but I have to say that I was taken aback by the quality of the Sonicare Elite 7300. The Sonicare Elite 7300 combines all the teeth cleaning power of the original Sonicare electric toothbrush with a sleeker design and a quad pacer that tells you when to switch the electric toothbrush to another area of your mouth. The quad pacer on the Sonicare Elite 7300 is extremely helpful because it keeps you from brushing the same area most of the time and neglecting key spots (such as the commonly missed back teeth, and for me this includes the hard-to-clean wisdom teeth!)

Those of you who have never owned an electric toothbrush will be amazed at how much easier and more efficient it is to clean with a Sonicare electric toothbrush instead of using a manual toothbrush. An electric toothbrush such as the Sonicare Elite 7300 helps you reach your back teeth (which are usually neglected by manual toothbrush users) and will let you know when you've brushed your teeth the required two minutes.

I find that the timer feature of the Sonicare electric toothbrush makes it a worthy buy in itself, because it is so easy to underestimate the amount of time you've been brushing your teeth. Obviously, pretty much any electric toothbrush will come with a built-in timer. The advantage of the Sonicare Elite 7300 timer is that, as mentioned above, it has a quad pacer. This means that instead of going off once after 2 minutes like most electric toothbrush timers, the Sonicare Elite 7300 will announce each 30 second mark, at which point, you'll know to switch to another section of the mouth. Basically, the Sonicare Elite 7300 electric toothbrush timer assumes that your mouth has four regions-upper right, upper left, lower right and lower left. You can move the Sonicare electric toothbrush between regions in whichever direction you choose, as long as you follow the electric toothbrush timer and switch regions after 30 seconds. After you've switched brushing regions four times, the final timer (which is different than the 30 second signals) will let you know that you've brushed your teeth for a full two minutes.

You might be surprised at how long two minutes can seem when you're brushing your teeth. Most people don't even brush their teeth for 30 seconds because they mistakenly think they've been brushing their teeth longer than they really have. Therein lies the advantage of an electric toothbrush like the Sonicare Elite 7300-you will have no trouble knowing the exact amount of time to brush your teeth. Without a Sonicare electric toothbrush, you'd need to stop and start a stopwatch four times while brushing your teetch, and who really wants to deal with that hassle?

The Sonicare Elite 7300 is most helpful for children or teens, especially those wearing braces. It's a known fact that most kids and teenagers have poor dental hygiene and don't devote nearly enough time to taking care of their teeth. This is especially true for teens with braces because braces get a tone of food stuck in them and are extremely difficult to clean. The Sonicare Elite 7300, however, is excellent at cleaning out the bits of food trapped in braces and even better at removing and preventing plaque build-up. It's a powerful and flexible electric toothbrush, qualities that are necessary for keeping a mouth full of wire clean.

The only problem I've had with my Sonicare Elite 7300 electric toothbrush is the grimy buildup it tends to accumulate at the base of the electric toothbrush and the charger. The buildup is a gunky grey that, while easy to clean, really disgusts me. I have found that wiping the Sonicare Elite 7300 off after each use, or at least once a day prevents any buildup.

The Sonicare Elite 7300 is also on the pricey side, usually costing around $80 at the dentist. Sometimes you can get it cheaper on websites like www. amazon.com. Some dentists will even give you a discount on your appointment if you invest in the Sonicare electric toothbrush. My dentist gave me a $20 mail-in rebate for my Sonicare Elite 7300, bringing the cost down to $60, which I think is totally worth it. It's even more price worthy if you have kids, because you can buy just one electric toothbrush handle and charger and then purchase cheaper electric toothbrush heads for each child. The Sonicare electric toothbrush is great for families because it really cuts down on kids' cavities. This makes it a great investment if you have children who have gotten cavities before, considering the atrocious price you have to pay to get a single cavity filled.

If you like the way your teeth feel after they get cleaned, then be sure to check out the Sonicare Elite 7300 electric toothbrush! I have found it to be one of the best personal investments made in the past several years.
