Sonnet: Ick!

Allana Calhoun

I shall not try nor make a false pretense

Upon attempts I know will not make sense

Never have I nor shan't I be the pen

That rhymes or writes in such rhythms of ten

Refuse I do to stay inside this form

I hate this style and loathe to be reformed

Sonnets my hate will target e'er so fast

This here's an axe that I will not see past

Even in school when poems flew out with ease

My skills in writ could not my hate appease

You think this poem may be within rhythm

Tis not my place to say what be fathomed

Know this, my last Iamb of Ic Pentam

From me 'cause you can't change the way I am

This made me laugh. I'm putting off writing a sonnet, they're difficult to write - ick!
