Sons of Hollywood Offers Rare Glimpse Inside Hollywood Families
A&E Shows the Lives of Randy Spelling, Sean Stewart and David Weintraub
Sons of Hollywood is a 12-episode weekly series following the daily lives of three childhood friends: Randy Spelling, son of TV icon Aaron Spelling the most prolific TV creator in the history of television; Sean Stewart, son of rock legend Rod Stewart; and a rising talent manager, David Weintraub. Viewers get to watch and follow these 20-somethings as they attempt to conquer the entertainment business by day and the Hollywood scene by night. Picture what life would be like for Paris Hilton if she actually had a job or career.
Sons of Hollywood takes an unflinching and compelling look at three childhood friends who face the typical triumphs and tragedies of young adulthood in a surreal world that is complicated not only by their location but by their familial ties.
The series follows the trio as they attempt to step out from the imposing shadows of their parents and forge their own identities. Sons of Hollywood kicks off with the three friends moving out of their family mansions and in together for the summer. Gone are the maids and butlers, the chauffeurs and chefs. For the first time in their lives, these young men are truly responsible for themselves. Right down to doing their own laundry.
At first glance these friends are living the dream - they boast impressive pedigrees, inside connections and outrageous social lives. But scratch under the surface and all that glitters is not necessarily gold.
Viewers are given unprecedented access to the raw drama and moments of true comedy the trio experiences as they try to carve their paths in the world.
The warts-and-all series exposes the intimate relationship dynamics between the sons and their famous fathers. Viewers are shown that even with the rich and famous, fathers and sons are complicated creatures with complicated relationships. Fame and fortune does not buy immunity from the trials and tribulations of trying to live up to a father's expectations.
Sons of Hollywood reveals the day-to-day drama with friends and family, unmasks career pressures often made worse because of who their fathers are. The show also takes a look at a personal struggle with sobriety and witnesses the tragedy that befalls Randy Spelling when his father passes away in the midst of filming the show.
Sons of Hollywood gives a glimpse into young adulthood made remarkable only by birthright.
