Sony Ericsson Introduces the K770, a New Cyber-shot Phone

Sony Ericsson has just unveiled the Sony Ericsson K770, the company's newest Cyber-shot phone model. Sporting a Truffle Brown color and just 14.5 mm thin, the K770 is the thinnest amongst Sony Ericsson's Cyber-shot phone line.

As a member of Sony's Cyber-shot phone line, the K770 has advanced camera features which includes a 3.2 megapixel camera, autofocus, 3x digital zoom, active integrated lens cover, and LED Photo light, photo fix, picture blogging, video recording, picture messaging, video viewing, and PictBridge technology that allows users to print directly from the mobile phone. According to Sony Ericsson, picture printing is possible at up to A4 size (297 mm x 210 mm).

Phone features include: UMTS 2100 and GSM 900, 800, 1900 Network support, 1.9 inch 262,144 TFT color screen, 16 MB phone memory expandable with Memory Stick Micro card support, built-in FM radio RDS, stereo Bluetooth support, and USB support. Since the Sony Ericsson K770 can run on UMTS networks, it also has the ability to video call if the recipient's phone also supports video calling. Software included in the Sony Ericsson K770 are, Media Player, Access Netfront web browser, Java MIDP 2.0, Alarm clock, calculator, calendar, notes, tasks, timer, and Modem.

Helene Barnekow, Head of Central Marketing at Sony Ericsson said, "the best moments in life always seem to happen when you don't have a camera. If you like the idea of having a snapshot camera on your phone, and want shots that look good in your family album, then the K770 is perfect." Barnekow also adds that the real beauty of the Sony Ericsson K770 is that the user can share their experiences with their friends and family. Once the user has captured the moment, it would be easy for them to print the picture or upload it immediately on their personal on-line gallery.

The Sony Ericsson K770 comes with a 256 MB Memory Stick Micro that can store up to 200 high quality photos. The Memory stick can also store music files that can be played on the phone's media player. The Sony Ericsson K770 also comes with a Track ID application that can identify music slips from FM radio stations, and has Sony Ericsson's PlayNow service that allows users to download additional ringtones and games. According to Sony Ericsson, the K770 has a talk time of 10 hours and a standby time of 400 hours.

The Sony Ericsson K770 Cyber-shot phone will be available in the fourth Quarter of 2007 at selected markets. As of writing, Sony Ericsson has not yet announced pricing for the K770.
