In a recent technology show in Berlin, Sony Ericsson has showcased their new line of phones. These are the W960, the W910, K530, K850, the Z320, and the Z350. The most eye-catching of these phones and possibly the more popular is the W960 Walkman phone.

The W960 has an internal 8GB memory, which can probably store 8000 songs, and can transfer 1GB of files from PC to phone in less than 3 minutes. This handset has a 2.6 inch touchscreen which can respond to either your fingers or a stylus.

The W960 offers both Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, has a 3.2 megapixel camera, and like previous Walkman models, has the TrackID music recognition software that lets you record a clip of the song and find out the artist name, track number, and album. Some even say that this could be Sony Ericsson's answer to the iPhone since it has similar features.

Cellular-news.com reports that Nicklas Sivander, Product Manager for the W960 Walkman phone, says "You couldn't ask for a better music mix of high performance media player and intuitive phone. The touchscreen is complemented by a regular keyboard and the phone itself is amplified by the Media Manager programme and the many music accessories. The days of taking an MP3 player, a camera and a phone with you when you leave the house are definitely over."

The W910 on the other hand has a shake control wherein you can control the phone's functions by moving the phone itself. According to CNET, Sony Ericsson claims that you can skip music tracks by flicking your phone to the left or right. You can also shuffle your playlist by shaking the phone back and forth, the shake control can also be used to play games. The W910 is a slider phone, has a 2 megapixel camera, and also supports 3G.

Sony Ericsson also introduced a 5 megapixel camera, the K850. Some of its camera features include autofocus, 16x zoom, Xenon flash, a camcorder, some more advanced camera features include, PictBridge technology and BestPic for editing your images. This device has an FM radio, expandable memory, Bluetooth, and supports UMTS/HSDPA bands.

Other standard phones include the Z320, a flip phone which has a 1.3 megapixel camera and some basic phone features exluding Bluetooth. The K350 on the other hand has a 2 megapixel camera, FM radio, music player, Bluetooth and is 3G capable.

According to Cellular-news.com, Sony Ericsson's K530 is the company's cheapest 3G phone so far. This phone has a 2 megapixel camera which can also record videos, 2.5x digital zoom, supports push email services, can access RSS webfeeds, and could have GPS capabilities if the optional accessory is purchased.

Pricing for these products is still unavailable though cellular-news.com already revealed their release dates as: W910 and K850, fourth quarter of this year; K530, K320 and K350, third quarter of 2007;

    I think the iPhone killer is what rival companies would dish out to compete with the iPhone. Though apple has a loyal following, most people are actually getting tired of all the apple hype.

    there's no such thing as the iphone killer, the iPhone will have a loyal following and most importantly; its core technology is patented
