Sony L Series All-In-One Desktops are great options for someone who wants to combine several different pieces of technology into one. Since it is a series there are several different models and add-ons available. I will list them all at the bottom of the article. Before then I will talk about the top model so you can fully understand how useful this machine is.

The Sony L Series All-In-One Desktop is a 24" 2D or 3D (depending on the model you get) Full HD touchscreen display. It is an LED-backlit LCD capable of full 1080p resolution. If you decide to go with the 3D model, a pair of 3D glasses is included. You have the choice between an Intel i3, i5, or i7 processor. The difference between these is as follows: the i3 and i5 are dual-core processors. The i5 has Turbo Boost Technology which is like the turbo you'd find in a car: It's not always used, but when you need it it's there. The i7 processor is a quad-core processor with Turbo Boost Technology. For the operating system Windows 7 is the only choice. However, you can choose between two levels of Windows 7, Home Premium and Professional. Both are 64-bit versions. Professional gives you more flexibility in terms of using programs designed for XP. There is a lot of flexibility in terms of hard drive space. You can choose from 500GB, 1TB, 2TB, and 3TB. Your choice depends on a couple of things. First, do you have an external storage device. Because if you do, then having a ton of storage capacity on this computer isn't necessary. Another factor is, if you are planning on storing the majority of files on this computer, what is it you're going to store? Movies take up a lot of space, and if you have a ton of music that might make you want to choose one of the higher capacities.

The amount of RAM (memory) is also a major factor when purchasing a computer. Sony L Series All-In-One Desktops come in 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB RAM. How do you know how much RAM is right for you? Well, think about everything that you do with the computer. The more complicated the programs that you run, the more RAM you're going to need. Also, if you are a multitasker then you're going to want more RAM because the more programs you have open, the more RAM is used. You have a choice between two graphics cards. The first is an Intel HD Graphics 3000 card, the second is the NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M with 1GB of dedicated memory. The Intel HD Graphics 3000 is the lower end processor. It's still good, but if you do video or photo editing, or like to play PC games, then I'd recommend upgrading to the NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M. The frame of the computer itself comes in black or white.

There are other upgrades available, but these are more add-ons than decisions on what type of core specifications you want. For example, there is a TV Tuner available if you want the Sony L Series All-In-One Desktop to second as a TV. The TV Tuner, which includes a remote control, has an HDMI input and output so you can plug in a cable box or satellite receiver and gain access to your provider's programming. The L Series also acts as a DVR and can record HD television. The amount it can record depends on the size hard drive that you purchased. Another possible add-on is a Blu-ray player.

Now on to the features, which this All-In-One desktop has many. The Sony L Series features Edge Access Technology which is a touchable area outside the screen that helps you save time on everyday tasks like flipping back pages while browsing, closing windows and more. Besides being able to be used as a television for watching shows, it can also be used as a gaming hub because you can plug in your Playstation 3, XBox 360, or Nintendo Wii. If you want to connect a second display to your Sony L Series All-In-One Desktop that is an option via the HDMI out port. It is wall mountable and the necessary hardware is supplied with the purchase of the computer. Also included with the computer is a wireless mouse and keyboard, so if you don't want to always use the touchscreen capability you don't have to.

There is an HD web camera built into the Sony L Series All-In-One Desktop, and this web camera is a bit better than what is installed in most monitors or laptops. It has an Exmor image sensor, the same image sensor which can be found in many Sony digital cameras. This means the web camera is great in low light. It also has the ability to track you as you move around the room, maintaining focus the whole time. In terms of sound, it has S-Force advanced audio technology, a 3D sound system, and bass-boosting speakers. In terms of the software inside the computer that allows for sound to be produced, the Sony L Series comes with Dolby Home Theater v3 audio tools, which can simulate 5-channel surround sound.

There are a large number of ports on the Sony L Series All-In-One Desktop which makes it very versatile in what it can support and is compatible with. It is Bluetooth 2.1 compatible. There are Memory Stic PRO Duo and SD card slots. There is a 4-pin iLink port, a composite audio/video input, headphone jack, microphone jack, 3 USB 2.0 ports, 2 USB 3.0 ports, and an HDMI in and out. The dimensions of the All-In-One vary depending on whether your are using it with or without the stand. With the stand the dimensions are 23.94" x 16.89" x 6.62" and it weighs 25.83 pounds. Without the stand the dimensions are 23.94" x 15.11" x 2.59" and it weighs 20.72 pounds.

The last thing worth mentioning are the software bundles which come with the Sony L Series All-In-One Desktop. There is an Adobe Bundle which includes the following: Acrobat Standard 9.0, Photoshop Elements 8.0, and Premiere Elements 8.0. There is also a Sony Imagination Studio Suite which includes: Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10.0, DVD ARchitect Studio 5.0, ACID Music 8.0, SoundForge Audio Studio 10.0, and Photo Go 1.0.
