Sony Projecting Clock Radio - Avoid This Horrible Product at All Costs

Projection devices are like a drug to me. Since I was a little kid there seemed to be a not so healthy obsession between myself and projectors. I am always looking for the latest technology that uses projection as it's main selling point. Perhaps this is the main reason I ran out and purchased Sony's ICF-C71PJ projecting clock radio. I figured that I could not go wrong with a solid company, radio, clock, and projection device all in once. However, I quickly learned that this is a horrible product that I advise all of you to run away from.

You can probably tell that it is hard for me to go against anything that offers projection technology. This is usually true because of my said obsession in relation to them. Sony has really made it easy for me to hate their ICF-C71PJ projecting clock radio. There are so many things wrong with this product that it is kind of hard to pick where to start off but I will try for all of my valuable readers.

A quick summary of the image projection is that it sucks. The reason I term it as "sucking" is because the projected image is not that clear. When I envision a image being projected onto a cloth sheet, wall, or surface, I expect a clear image to be present. However, the Sony ICF-C71PJ projecting clock radio offers a blurry image at best. Some might argue that the image is not that blurry, but I tend to view it as blurry when you can sit back and count all of the pixels used to form the numbers.

Secondly, the LCD display was too bright. I like to sleep in a room that is semi dark and not lit up as if I was sleeping with a night light. To be honest with you I found it incredibly hard to sleep when I was using this product. I am not light sensitive at all but the ICF-C71PJ projecting clock radio was certainly making me feel as if I was. Even when I played with the brightness controls it resulted in being too bright and not that fun to have in the same room with me.

One other thing that I dislike about this product was that it was not fully adaptable to other MP3 players. A lot of music players that are coming out today tend to offer the ability to use more than just an IPOD with your player. I found that not having the ability to do so kind of made me even more upset with my purchase. I might of been better off purchasing another Sony product than the ICF-C71PJ projecting clock radio.

My overall feeling of the Sony ICF-C71PJ projecting clock radio will probably never change. Even if the company spends some time to make it better will not change my mind. The company appears to not have put in the proper effort in creating this product. It almost seems like they copied another company's product and did a poor job at doing so as well. I advise all of you to stay away from this product and to save your money for something much better.
