Sony's new VAIO TZ-series combines portability and performance into one beautifully designed package. Sony designed the TZ-series for the most demanding of their customers and made use of only cutting-edge materials and the highest design values.

Sony's VAIO TZ-series key specifications include: Intel Core 2 Duo U7600 or U7500, 2 GB DDR2 RAM memory, 80 to 100 GB Hard disk drive, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, DVD+-RW/+-R DL/RAM optical drive, 11.1 inch X-black LCD with 72% colour accuracy and LED illumination, fingerprint recognition, Intel wireless LAN 802.11 a b g, Bluetooth connectivity, Integrated Micro Web CAM, wireless Wide Area Network (WAN) technology provided by the Sprint Mobile Broadband Network, and Carbon fibre lid and base. The VAIO TZ-series only weighs 1.19 Kg, thanks to the carbon-fibre casing. Software included in the VAIO TZ-series include; Adobe Photoshop Elements, Adobe Premiere Elements, Click to DVD, and WinDVD 8.0. The VAIO TZ-series comes pre-installed with Windows Vista Business Edition.

Design and Features

Users won't notice the integrated Motion Eye webcam since it is concealed in the surround screen which is only 4mm thick, that in itself makes one impressed with the remarkable feat of engineering that went into the making of the VAIO TZ series. The VAIO TZ-series' keyboards are remarkable to touch as it is raised slightly above an attractive piano-black bezel layer.

The VAIO TZ-series is more than just design, it is also a feature rich notebook. The VAIO TZ-series incorporates the latest Intel Core 2 Duo ultra-low processor so users can do a variety of work on their VAIO TZ-series. Sony also packed the VAIO TZ-series with a variety of connectivity options. The TZ-series has an integrated Wireless LAN to instantly connect the users to the web when they are on a hot spot. Even if users are nowhere near a hotspot, they can still connect to the Internet using the VAIO TZ-series' wireless Wide Area Network (WAN) technology compatible with Sprint's EV-DO network.

Another feature of the VAIO TZ-series is the Instant Mode. Users who love watching DVDs or playing audio CDs on their laptops can do so instantly without booting into Windows. A set of dedicated AV buttons is integrated into the device which provides the users with the necessary controls.

Security is also not an issue with the VAIO TZ notebook since it comes with an integrated fingerprint reader and Trusted Platform Module (TPM) hardware encryption to keep the user's personal data safe. The VAIO TZ notebook also comes with a G-Sensor Hard Disk Shock Protection which automatically parks the hard drive's heads to prevent damage to the disk.

Sony's VAIO TZ-series notebooks is already available at Sony Style stores with a starting price of $2,200.
