Sony's Newest Version of PSP 33% Lighter Than Previous Model

The Latest PSP that was Unveiled at This Year's E3 Showcase Shows Much Improvement

NEW PSP IS UNVEILED AT E3 2007
Sony needs all the help it can get from the media after getting clobbered by Nintendo's latest hardware called the Wii in retail stores worldwide. Nintendo's Wii has so far outsold Sony's PS3 by a margin of 3 to 1, and PS3 sales don't look to improve that much more even after Sony has reduced the PS3's sales price by $100.

$499 is still a high price tag to put on any new video game console, but especially one that has no huge and exclusive game to call its own, such as the PS3. So along comes E3, which is the video game equivalent to the yearly Auto Car Show held in Anaheim California that shows prototypes of future cars by such manufacturers as Chevrolet, Nissan and Toyota. E3 shows off new games and hardware by major players such as Microsoft, EA games, Nintendo and, of course Sony.

MORE BATTERY POWER FOR THE NEW PSP?
According to Sony spokespersons at E3, the new PSP will feature a lot longer battery life than the previous model. Just how much longer, Sony will not disclose, but any longer battery life at all would be better than the amount of time that the PSP will last for you right now. The new PSP also comes in a nice and much sleeker silver finish, which will look very stylish next to your laptop the next time you go on a very long airplane trip.

The new PSP will also be about 33% lighter in total weight, which is also something that Sony has been working on for quite some time now. That needless weight that the PSP has now lost should help sell quite a few more units in the long run because most new gadget owners hate to be weighed down by yet another new item that they have to carry with them at all times.

THE NEW PSP HAS FASTER MEDIA LOAD TIMES
Both games and movies that Sony will very soon allow to be downloaded into the PSP hard drive from their Sony web site will load at a much faster bit rate than ever before. Sony has also included a new video output plug onto the new PSP which will allow you to hook your PSP up to any TV unit and watch whatever video you happen to be watching at the moment.

STAR WARS AND FAMILY GUY PSP COMING TO YOU VERY SOON
Sony announced that the new "Ice Silver" entertainment bundle will soon ship with 1GB memory chip, a few episodes from the Showtime series "Daxter" and the Family Guy: Frickin' Sweet edition of the famous cartoon series. That bundle will set you back $199, but it sounds worth the money.

Star Wars fans will not be disappointed by the news that a special version of the new PSP will soon ship that will include graphic images of Star Wars on the PSP itself along with a new Star Wars: Battlefront game as well.

All in all, Sony did not disappoint anyone when they showed all of the future benefits that being a proud owner of a future PSP will bring you.
