The new addition to the Sony family does not have a front-loading tray, but rather a new slot loading design and a little flap for memory cards. The PS3 will have a 2.5 inch removable hard drive. It will also support Sony's own Memory Stick and Memory Stick Duo technology, along with CompactFlash and SD memory card formats.
The coolestitem besides the silver color and the sleek design is the new controllers. They are wireless, boomerang shaped and powered by Bluetooth Technology, which is the same as cell phones. They can be recharged through the PS3's USB ports. You should rarely have problems with signal equipment degradation. So far, this is just a prototype and it could change over the coming months.
The PS3 will also feature four USB ports located on the front. These will serve as a connection point between the PSP and the Playstation 3. You will also be able to use them for EyeToy Type peripherals.
If you look on the back of the PS3 you will see some cool new features. There are two HDMI outputs, which will allow you to hook up your Playstation 3 to two HDTV monitors. HDMI is a full digital video and audio connection method which allows you to get a cleaner signal. There are also two more USB ports in the rear in case the four in the front aren't enough. There are also three network ports, a power cutoff switch, and the AC-in which is different from the one on the PS1 and PS2. It will also allow you to hook the PlayStation 3 to two HDTV monitors. You will be able to use your surround sound and listen to your video games with the high-end audio capabilities.
The Playstation3alreadyhas a whole line of video gameswaiting for it.The following are just a few games coming out for the PS3: Heavenly Sword, Ni-Oh, Gunman, Motor Storm, Gran Turismo 5, I-8, and Devil May Cry 4.
The only downside is that the PlayStation 3 could change from now to the release next year. Time will tell what new technology will be placed on the PlayStation 3. Will it be worth the wait?
