If you like Thai food, then you will enjoy Sopa Thai Cuisine. The restaurant is located near Gaiser Pets, at 720 Plumas Street, Yuba City, California, 95991. The telephone number is (530) 790-7672.

My husband and I recently stopped by Plumas Street in Yuba City. We have frequently walked by Sopa Thai Cuisine on our way to Gaiser Pets, the Mexican bakery and antique shop but without ever stopping by Sopa Thai Cuisine for a meal. What initially attracted us to Sopa Thai this time was the gift shop. As the front door was locked, we saw a sign that directed us to the gift shop by walking inside the restaurant. We were impressed by the Thai artwork, clothes, jewellery, and furniture that we saw in the shop. By the time we had finished looking inside the gift shop, we had already decided to eat at Sopa Thai Cuisine.

We were quickly seated inside the beautifully decorated restaurant. The walls were full of richly embroidered tapestries, Thai artwork, and photos of the Thai Royal Family. We could not help admiring our surroundings as we waited for our meal. Even the men's and women's toilets were richly decorated.

After some consideration and plenty of advice from our waiter, my husband and I ordered Vegetable Se-ew, which was a noodle dish, and Thai Fried Rice with Chicken. Our waiter informed us that the meals we had ordered were quite substantial and meant to be shared. We liked the idea of sharing each other's lunch by getting to sample two different dishes. As we waited for our lunch to come out, more customers stopped by and with only one waiter, he was kept busy trying to serve all the tables on his own. As the restaurant started to fill up, he did receive some help from a waitress.

When our lunch arrived, we were pleased with the beautiful presentation of the food. It was decorated with vegetables cut into flower designs. Then as we tucked into our meal, the delicate Thai flavours came out all the more.

Our waiter was hard working and attentive, although he forgot to bring my husband his cup of coffee. We mentioned it to our waiter towards the end of our meal, by which time it was too late for coffee. We declined his kind offer of a free coffee, as we could see he had been busy serving other customers. An added bonus to eating at Sopa Thai is that there is a military discount for active duty and retired military personnel, which meant lunch cost less than $18.00.

Overall, my husband and I enjoyed our dining experience at Sopa Thai Cuisine. The food tasted homemade and freshly cooked and was simply delicious. If you want to sample Thai cuisine in the Yuba-Sutter region, stop by Sopa Thai Cuisine in Yuba City. You will be glad you did.
