Sorcerer Radio Brings Walt Disney World Music to Your Computer

Aimee E
While true Disney fans wish our vacation to Walt Disney World would never end, thanks to an Internet radio station, Sorcerer Radio, listeners can enjoy all of the sounds of Disney everyday of the year. Sorcerer Radio broadcasts some of the best Disney World attractions from all four theme parks daily. The tracks it plays are rare, and not found on most Disney CD's. The best thing about Sorcerer Radio though, is that it is free. Here is how it works:

Sorcerer Radio is hosted by the Internet Radio channel Live365. While there are both paid and non-paid subscriptions, I have the non-paid one, and I can tell you that there are, on average, only two commercials after every three songs. The show has special feature programming on a daily basis. For example, there is the "Animal Kingdom" hour, the "retro" hour, and the listener's request hour; to only mention a few of the selected hours. My personal favorite is the nighttime fireworks presentations. Sorcerer Radio plays the same music as the Magic Kingdom's "Wishes" and Epcot's "Illuminations, Reflections of Earth". This is played every night, and it is best to log on at around 8:00 Eastern time to ensure you are connected and waiting for the pre-show.

In order to enjoy Sorcerer Radio, you must first install the Live365 player. After registering on the website, you are taken to a screen that has a menu. Select the "Listen now" icon on the left-hand side, and a box will come up in a new window where you can install the Live365 player. It is free, and only requires ActiveX. While it is not necessary to keep both windows open, the Live365 player will display the last two tracks played, along with the current song. However, the Sorcerer Radio Jukebox page displays the current track, along with the past five songs previously played, noting commercial breaks.

When reviewing the radio station, I must say the quality is exceptional, and does sound just like the attractions at Disney World. I have a dial-up connection, and every now and then have had to refresh because my player got stuck. This was when I was not using the Live365 player. Since I have installed and used the recommended player (Live365), Sorcerer Radio has given me no problems, and seems to come in even clearer.

After listening to Sorcerer Radio for over six months, I must say it is my favorite radio station. As a fan of Disney Theme Parks, Sorcerer Radio has provided me an opportunity to let me imagination take me to "the happiest place on Earth", even if I can't be there in person.
