Soul Calibur 4 is a highly anticipated fighting game amongst most video-game freaks. I myself have not followed all the previous versions as well, but I do enjoy fighting games. This 1 to 2 player button smashing, sword bashing, tiny bikini fighting that you might find in a typical Hentai soft core. From the People that brought you Mr. and Mrs. Pac-man, comes Part four of a successful fighting series that has always done well.

Out of the box you get a list of familiar characters with some grayed out. Players can unlock them very easy by beating the game. Also, you start with enough money to unlock a few characters. Not all characters are opened but after beating the game a few times you can sum up enough knowledge and cash to release the others. The thing to remember is that all the characters use the same sets of buttons and combos. This easy feel gives you a false sense of confidence. Once on hard and you quickly find you place in the game. If interested in becoming better, you should use the training mode. There is a move list with each player's moves.

The online version did not seem very robust, it was frustrating at times trying to get an online game going. This game was made to play with a bunch of people taking turns trying out new characters. If you don't have any buddies to pass the remote around then the game might get a little boring. The game is rated for teens and rightfully so, it contains violence and sexy characters wearing next to nothing on. There is also a feature to create your own characters to look the way you desire and with what ever fighting style you favor. There are some prevailing fighters but I believe there is always someone that can beat any character, which you need to figure out. The game can go on for a while if you build up your characters with stronger armors and magic to create a superior fighter an even a clown in a clown suit. You can purchase special parts of their uniform and weapons to have a little fun.

All in all a great fighting game that anyone that can press buttons can play. That's right you do not need to be a thumb monkey to be dominant but with practice any monkey can figure this game out. So whip out the Gatorade and sweatbands because you're in for a workout with this one.
