Soul Forming

Charlotte Kuchinsky
The teenage years are difficult. You feel a lot of things and you feel them with such strength and angst. These are my ramblings of a wounded teenage girl (about 15) still trying to figure things out.

I wonder what would I be
If I were no longer me?
Would you be able to see
What I was meant by decree?

I wonder what you would say
If I disappeared today?
Would you wish that I would stay
Or be glad I went away?

I wonder what I would feel
If I were no longer real?
Would I fight with such strong zeal
Or give up and just not deal?

I wonder what I would change
If I could just rearrange
Or alter what I find strange
To change the world from long range?

Could I be just a mistake?
Am I real or just a fake?
Why does my soul have to ache
And is my heart doomed to break?

Life begins capriciously
And then turns maliciously;
Finally ends judiciously.
Living it is the real key.

Very deep for such a tender age, but I can definitely relate.

Thought-provoking as usual with you, Charlie. Teenage years are difficult, and most teens do a lot more introspection than we give them credit.

    Brilliant from start to finish.

Very well written. Why did we so often feel that if we weren't there, no one would care? Or, perhaps, everyone would FINALLY care.
