As if there wasn't enough reason to go to Smith St. and eat, did you see the long lines of people that were sampling soups from the twenty-odd restaurants participating in the first Smith Street Soup Festival! Not only were the soups great, but some of the $5 entry fee from each strolling soup sampler went towards the local Culinary Arts Program at the High School for International Studies.

Associate Food Editor for NY Timeout magazine was there as well as many other foodies. The graciously participating restaurants were: Apartment 138, Athena, Bar Tabac, Bino, Bombay Dream, Chestnut, Cibao, Cubana Cafe, El Nuevo Portal, Lunetta, Pane E Vino, Provence en Boit, Raga, Robin des Bois, Savoia, Seersucker, Sue Perette, The Jakewalk, Verde, and Zaytoon's
