Soup Plantation in Loma Linda, California

Armed with a "buy one regular buffet meal + drink and get the next meal free" coupon, a friend and I visited the Loma Linda Soup Plantation. Now, in the past, I had a poor experience with this particular restaurant chain and did not plan on ever returning to their locations. After all, how appetizing can a buffet of mostly salads (with a few tidbits of "real food") be? However, I still went along when my friend found the coupon for the place and we ended up at a Soup Plantation in Loma Linda, California at lunchtime.

The coupon worked out just as advertised, so we got two meals with drinks (free refills) for roughly $12.00. Not too shabby when you consider my healthy appetite at the time and the large amounts of food available at the various buffet stations located throughout the restaurant. So, we went ahead, plowing down a large combination of salad items (I'm not a big salad fan, but I actually did a Caesar this time) and then went to work on the different soups available. I have to applaud Soup Plantation for their soup bowl design-its the best I've ever seen at a buffet place, easy to carry without spilling yet still holds lots of soup. It's almost a giant spoon, if you can picture that. The soups are really where my opinion of Soup Plantation started to change-they were excellent. The Cream of Chicken was simply superb and so was the Minestrone. I then moved onto the pasta offered at the buffet and found them to be excellent as well. After drink refills, my friend suggested we try the honey butter on muffins, something they have plenty of at Soup Plantation. Wow! Another hit and another good reason to try Soup Plantation! Pretty much everything I tried I really, really liked. By the end of the meal, I thought about trying some of the soft serve ice cream, but though against it-I was quite full and in no need for more food.

So, overall, I had a blast at Soup Plantation in Loma Linda, California. The staff was friendly and helpful, the atmosphere clean and open, the food was excellent and the coupon kept the price down a lot. If you are in the area, consider trying them out, especially if you can get that same coupon! Happy dining at Soup Plantation!
