Source Naturals is an excellent company that provides an array of dietary supplements, such as St. John's Wort and vitamin c, but their best product is undoubtedly their green tea extract.
I had been using the company's vitamin c for quite a number of years and was quite satisfied with their product; it had helped me pass many illnesses during flu season. And about two years ago I started paying attention to the literature concerning the potent antioxidant properties of green tea. A chemical in green tea called EGCG eliminates free radicals and kills cancer cells, cleansing your body of toxins and keeping your cells healthy and more cancer-free. Green tea can help combat the dangers of fatty diets and smoking. Cardiovascular health, lowered blood pressure, air pollution antioxidant, cancer prevention, and 25 times more potent than red wine--all in one supplement? I could hardly believe it!
But at the time I was, well, "unenlightened" about healthy foods and beverages, and was more of a soda drinker than a tea drinker. I thought that since I was drinking diet soda it was okay for my body--boy was I wrong!
Nevertheless, I wanted the benefits of green tea but wanted my soda too, so I got online and looked for an alternative to the tea itself. I found green tea soap, green tea cough drops, green tea syrup, but none of
that helped me a bit. I got a little frustrated, went to an online drugstore, and there I hit the jackpot--Source Naturals Green Tea Extract. It was dirt cheap, only a few dollars for a 60 tablet bottle.
I wanted to get started right away and didn't want to wait for shipping, so I went to the drug store and found it in the supplements section. It was a few cents more, but less overall with shipping. I went home, took a tablet, and waited. I felt nothing. I took another tablet the following day, and I felt nothing.
In fact, I've never felt anything after taking it. No stomach discomfort, no fever, no nausea, nothing. After a few months of taking it I went to the doctor, and my blood pressure was lower than it had been in a long time. I had more energy during the day and felt less dull-headed. My vision improved a bit and my digestion was better. In short, I had a clearer mental picture and felt like a new man--and that was before I even switched to drinking the stuff.
The tablets are easy to swallow, as they're the tiniest tablets I've ever seen-about 1/3 the size of a dime. You can even crush them and stick them into water or juice if you have trouble swallowing pills. Green tea is all-natural, so it won't interact with anything else, and has no negative effects to speak of. Source Naturals provides a non-caffeine product, which is good if you like to take it at night just before bed as I do. There are no calories to speak of, and each tablet also contains 2% of your daily calcium need, so there's an added nutritional benefit as well. And at just over $3 for a 60-tablet bottle, how can you go wrong?
And if I keep taking my tablets daily, in 10, 15, 20, even 30 years from now I'll have a much better state of health due to the antioxidants cleansing my system daily. There's less of a chance that I'll suffer from Alzheimer's when I'm older, and my odds of cardiovascular disease will be lessened greatly. And cancer will have a hard time forming with so much EGCG running through my system.
But Source Naturals isn't just for those who don't drink green tea. The best part of it is that I can still take my extract while I'm drinking green tea daily. Some researchers suggest drinking up to 4 cups per day of green tea to achieve its full benefit, and as I only drink a cup or two a day, I need something to get me two more each day. That's where Source Naturals comes in. If I drink less than four cups of tea in a day, I'll take a Source Naturals to make up the antioxidants in the cups I skipped. If I don't drink any at all, I take two. It's a convenient and cheap way for me to reach my daily intake of four cups, and works as a great supplement to the tea I already drink.
Suggested use for the 100mg tablets is two to three tablets daily with food. Source Naturals blend is highly concentrated, so the pills are small, thin, and extremely easy to swallow. It has no artificial fragrance or flavoring, so the tablets don't leave a bad taste in your mouth. I sometimes cut the pills in half using a pill cutter if I only need
half a pill per day, making a single bottle of 60 last for months.
Source Naturals Green Tea Extract can be purchased at most drug and health food stores, or at one of many online drugstores.
I have been using Source Naturals brand green tea extract for over two years, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to attain a healthier, less polluted body.
