South Africa presents the surfer with one of the world's best named surf spots, J. Bay or Jeffrey's Bay (the official name). This Spring Break may be the time to take that surfing trip to J. Bay. Located on the South African coastline and only 45 miles west of Port Elizabeth, J. Bay attracts surfers from around the world. J-Bay has been a contender for the world's best wave status, which has caused a large growth in tourist activity.

J-Bay surf runs along a lava reef of approximately a one-mile long south facing jagged outcrop. The surfer who surfs at J-Bay should be an intermediate or pro surfer and have some good experience with the waves. Visit www.surfline.com for more exciting and up to date news on J-Bay South Africa.

Lodging for Spring Break will be coveted by all travelers and be sure to visit www.infojeffreysbay.com for up to date lodging information on places such as Wave Crest and local hostels that will be available for guests. J-Bay also provides surf schools for those who are just starting out in this amazing sport. Surf Masters Surfschool and Wavecrest Surf School are located close to J-Bay and provide professional instructors to give great lessons.

Another fantastic surf location in South Africa is Cape Town. When surfing this Spring Break at Cape Town expect some cold water due to he Antarctic currents flowing by. Cape Horn has big powerful waves to offer to the experienced surfer. South Africa has surfing all year round so if Spring Break isn't a good time this year plan the trip for another part of the year.

Cape Town has family friendly lodging for the entire family this Spring Break. When not surfing on the great waves off the beaches of South Africa visitors can enjoy the wine lands, mountains, and some great nightlife hotspots. Waterfront Hotels give luxury stays to guests who visit for a day or a week. The Commodore Hotel and the Portswood Hotel are some of the most recommended lodging locations in Cape Town. Last on the list for South Africa Spring Break Surfing is Durban, which is called the home of the most consistent waves in South Africa. With regular swells and great wind directions in abundance this is becoming one of South Africa's most visited surfing destinations. Durban is well known for its fierce local surfers and competitions. The water temperatures are warm all year round and the weather is generally hot and humid. If a surfer wishes to participate with the locals then Durban is the place to be this Spring Break.
